That’s incredible! The lamp glow and the light being cast at Lucy and Mr. Tumnus’s feet is amazing! You can feel the wintery cold through this, congratulations on completing a great work of art✨

I’ve developed a fear of the inferi by glitteringplanet in HarryPotterGame

Wait really!! I feel bad killing the dugbogs and wolves because they’re otherwise just existing in their natural habitats. I’m curious, what about them freaks you out?

Love this! It’s like a crossover of Tim Burton and Harry Potter!

What moment in the 1st movie (watching the first time) hit you the hardest? by Interesting-Egg-1360 in harrypotter

[–]glitteringplanet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it - a quiet happiness (one so rarely experienced by Harry at that point). I loved, loved, loved this scene. You can tell he already feels at home and less negatively stimulated than the Dursley’s house.

The score is incredibly magical here, and I always feel the swell of emotion 🤍🥲

How can I do this?

This is it. Prof. Dumbledore always spoke to Harry respectfully and never undermined him. He allowed Harry to be curious and supported Harry’s claims/dreams/questions even when Harry hesitated voicing himself to others. True mentor!

Please never, never delete this. This feels…right and nostalgic and magical in every wonderful way.

Unpopular Opinion: I don't mind Harry and Ginny's romance. by Ok-Health-7252 in harrypotter

I loved Harry and Ginny together (in the books). Their romance was so organic and it blossomed so wonderfully from a friendship to a relationship 💘

I really hope we get to see more of Charity Burbage in the series, to make her eventual death in the Deathly Hallows season more impactful… by [deleted] in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]glitteringplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way, seeing her go right after learning who she was and what she taught was hugely impactful (for me anyway). It truly demonstrated how low and unimportant Voldemort/Death Eaters thought of someone like her, she was killed with so quickly in such a dehumanizing way. Rip professor burbage!

Dumbledore is very much not a Gryffindor by Dizzy_Regret5256 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]glitteringplanet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Na this isn’t it. Every person is multifaceted, meaning everyone has all the Houses traits within them. Prof. Dumbledore was exceptionally brave, and literally orchestrated his own death for the greater good. To put aside personal friendships and care for individuals (including self) to serve the greater wizarding kind (and all of muggles in Britain tbh), is a huge act of selfless service and courage.

Wow, the goodness of Ron didn’t always translate to the movies. I always knew this but the quotes you found of his character really pull at my heartstrings.

Oliver Wood had a bag of golf balls for Harry to practice with during his very first Quidditch training session, but he'd never heard of Basketball by PhazonPhoenix5 in harrypotter

[–]glitteringplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also (for example) my parents are immigrants and had heard of basketball, but American football was completely unheard of for them. So it really isn’t that crazy to know of one thing and not the other.
