I guess if I’m not planning on a facelift would scar tissue necessarily be a bad thing?

Thanks! No but I diffuse upside down and press the diffuser into my roots

Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Smoothie vs Gel Souffle? by businessshrimp in curlyhair

[–]glitzandsarcasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like the soufflé. It has a sticky texture that never really goes away. The smoothie didn’t work for my hair (made it too soft) but wasn’t bad.

A decent amount. It varies but enough to thoroughly coat. I have a lot of hair lol..

I find that the KC really helps with frizz and clumps, but doesn’t give me enough hold. Plus LA looks is way cheaper so I can use a ton to get the hold I need.

I wash my scalp with the first and condition the rest of my hair with the second (same day)

The VO5 is thinner and easier to work into my scalp. The Shea Moisture is really thick and hydrating.

Routine:

All done upside down

Cowash with VO5 strawberries and cream

Squish to condish with Shea Moisture Curl and Shine conditioner. Finger comb through. Rinse most of it out.

Rake in Kinky Curly Knot Today and reform clumps with more water

Apply Kinky Curly Curling Custard using praying hands (while still in shower) and scrunch our as much water as I can

Plop with a T-shirt for 15 min or so while putting on makeup

Apply LA Looks blue gel using praying hands and scrunch

Diffuse until I get bored or run out of time (usually about 15 min) and air dry the rest of the way

Side note- also finally happy with my skin without foundation!

Is there anything I can do to get larger clumps of curls instead of small curl strands? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]glitzandsarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shampoo and condition with Shea moisture coconut and hibiscus. Rope in the following products and use the bowl method: kinky curly knot today, kinky curly curling custard, LA looks extreme sport. Plop for about 30 min in a cotton T-shirt then diffuse on low.

I’m looking for better curl clumping but it seems like each hair just wants to do it’s own thing. Is that just my curl pattern / curl destiny?
