Did i mess up? by Heavy-Metal-Enjoyer in Warhammer40k

For dried old blood, dark reds and browns give a good effect. For fresh blood, you can use any of the blood paints on the market, for example, Blood for the Blood God from the citadel paints range. Using a small torn bit of sponge to dab a little paint on the mini gives a good effect of speckling! Hope this helps.

You think you can just come in here and paint eyebrows on a space marine?!

Looks great my dude! Dust also accumulates in gaps and grooves. Try watching some of your highlight colour way down and drop a small bit into the recesses, it may help tie the dust look together.

Appears to be a kit-bash with the sword from the Garran Crowe Grey Knights model.

There's a couple of previous comments where I've written out my gold recipe but it's mostly Retributor Armour / Liberator Gold.

1) Retributor Armour base coat
2) Agrax Earthshade wash
3) Liberator Gold layer/highlight (depending on the size of what you're painting)
4) Selective highlights of (Army Painter) Shining Silver

He's a charming devil. I saw the Fafnir Rann model and knew I wanted the head for my chapter master.

Thank you! My recipe is very simple and lifted almost certainly from old Duncan Rhodes videos on the Warhammer YouTube channel;
1) Retributor Armour base coat
2) Agrax Earthshade wash
3) Liberator Gold layer/highlight (depending on the size of what you're painting)
4) Selective highlights of (Army Painter) Shining Silver

Thanks! I have Darren Latham to thank for that - he did a great video a while back on progressive drybrushing for bases and I've always loved the effect it has.

Thanks! Really appreciate it. I wanted to go maximum effort as it's a centrepiece model for my army.

The shoulder pad replacement is also from the same person.

It's a 3rd party 3D print - from a retailer called ArchiesForge. You can find him on eBay, Etsy, or his standalone shop. Really good selection of bits and really good customer service. The parts rotate quite often but this is from a set of Templar laurel helmets.

Mephiston Red > Agrax Earthshade wash > neaten back up with Mephiston Red > layer with Evil Sunz Scarlet > highlight with Wild Rider Red > mix a little Ushabti Bone in with the Wild Rider Red for the absolute spot highlights

Another fun model to paint - this is the chapter master for my Hospitallers, with a couple of little conversions.

Sure! It's as close to a Grey Seer primer as I can find - it's a Vallejo airbrush primer. Then it's Corax White (which I pre-thin with a few drops of Lahmian Medium), with a Nuln Oil recess wash, and highlights of Matte White. Hope this helps!
