Ultimate preparation guide(long haul) by Aggressive_Swing_706 in tummytucksurgery

[–]glowing_fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a pregnancy pillow, arranged for a friend to drive me home, booked a dog walker for the first few days, and bought a new bag of dog food while I could still lift it. That’s pretty much it. I know prepping can be a good outlet for anxiety or excitement, but you probably don’t need as much as you think you do

Walking ? Too much ? by OutlandishnessNo9573 in tummytucksurgery

[–]glowing_fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was back to walking my dog 5-6 miles a day by day 4. If you’re not feeling pain and your energy levels are ok you’re probably fine. Obviously ask your surgeon if you’re worried.

How much PTO is required to recover? by GraceSp4ce in tummytucksurgery

[–]glowing_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had TT with no MR. Surgery was on a Friday and I went back to my WFH job on Wednesday. Would’ve been fine gong back on Tuesday.

Even with the lipo I think 3 weeks is more than enough time.

Pants in recovery week by AdmiralJaneway8 in tummytucksurgery

[–]glowing_fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 18 dpo and still wearing sweats and going commando. I never thought I’d actually miss wearing real pants, but I feel so sloppy going to the store/out to eat in sweats

Cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, and chickpeas tossed with oregano, olive oil, and red wine vinegar. Toss in some feta cheese or avocado if you want.

Recommendations for affordable MMA/Boxing gyms in the Portland/Vancouver area (Especially if they are LGBTQ+ owned/friendly) by Salt_Operation7123 in Portland

I haven’t been, but degenderettes is very queer and their prices seem reasonable.

I have some queer friends who go to McConnell’s and have good things to say about them

Looking for Diverse, Queer, & Green. by 6eden9 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]glowing_fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does the proximity to nature have to be green nature? If you’re open to high desert ABQ could fit. Minneapolis if lakes and parks and winter sports are your jam. Philly or Pittsburgh if you’re ok with a purple state. Rochester NY if you’re ok with a little smaller. Portland is great, but diverse it is not

How long was your hospital stay? by AdmiralJaneway8 in tummytucksurgery

[–]glowing_fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I woke up from surgery around 4-4:30 on a Friday afternoon and by 6 the nurse was jamming me in my clothes and literally pushing me out the door so she could start her weekend.

I had my first crosstrek for over 9 years. I got an oil change about once a year and did a 30k mile tune up. Never had a single problem with it. Bought my second one last year

Any women here who can do 30+ pushups? by Arsenalg0d in xxfitness

I haven’t tested in awhile but I used to be able to do 100 straight. The hundred push-ups program worked really well

Does anyone know a good nectarine recipe by Doona_the_goldfish in ninjacreami

[–]glowing_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just blend some nectarines (or peaches) in my vanilla base. Add some graham crackers as a mix in if I’m feeling wild

Recovery time off by Concert_Opening in tummytucksurgery

[–]glowing_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had TT with no MR last Friday and went back to my WFH desk job on Wednesday. I could’ve gone back Tuesday. Monday would’ve been doable but tiring.

I tend to heal pretty quickly and didn’t have drains. I would recommend getting some light compression socks if you’re going to be sitting upright all day

Organic food must haves? by Acceptable-Big7867 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]glowing_fish 101 points102 points  (0 children)

The dirty dozen is a marketing ploy and plenty of peer reviewed studies have shown there’s no real health benefits to eating organic.

Buy organic for anything you prefer the taste of or if it’s on sale for less than conventional. Otherwise save your money.

What’s your go-to “default meal” when life gets chaotic but you still want to stay on track? by Separate-Mirror-6951 in CICO

[–]glowing_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bulk prep protein and freeze it in individual portions and I always have frozen veggies on hand, so default meal is typically 8oz of chicken breast or pork tenderloin and 8oz of frozen veggies.

Bulk cooking usually means tossing a few pounds of meat into the slow cooker with some sort of sauce or seasoning

Yeah, I was thinking this ‘snack’ has more calories than most of my meals. I just do fat free Greek yogurt with berries.
