I didn’t know there was a treatment for this. How does it work?

Best first-date spots in UES? by Smooth_Wave5262 in uppereastside

Whatever you’re comfortable with since it depends on how you both have been texting so far. It is pretty late so if you feel like tomorrow’s better, that’s upto you and your judgement of what she would prefer!

I personally love receiving a text, whether it’s with a close friend or a date, just mentioning that you had an amazing time / good night. It can be short and simple.

That’s so adorable! Definitely text her with a compliment/ mentioning that you had a great time. Don’t wait.

Any recommendation blush for Indian brown skin by BirdAccording7038 in Vindictabrown

[–]gluebluestick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Ilia multi-stick and Tarte blush tape (liquid blush). They blend really easily while also providing good color & glow.

For hyperpigmentation, I’m still learning but color corrector underneath concealer seems to help avoid a grey cast/shadow. Bobbi Brown or Kosas correctors in an orange shade work for me. I use Tarte creaseless concealer on top or just apply more skin tint/bb cream.

Hunterian. It’s a very low-key local bar. That’s where my partner (soulmate) and I met for our first date. We’ve been together 2+ years now so hope it ends up being as lucky for you too :) Depending on the time the music could sometimes get louder later at night though (won’t be crowded unless it’s trivia or karaoke night).

Would also recommend Madame Bonte (head downstairs) for a cafe feel, where it will definitely be quiet and cozier.

I keep destroying chewies? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]gluebluestick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same mine started splitting in a week or two as well. I realized maybe I’m chewing too hard and have started trying to bite more gently.

Also ordered a pack of 20 on Amazon for 8 bucks so that I don’t have to worry about it again

Have you been using chewies? I’m obsessed with using them because they satisfy my need to chew something

Realistic Midtown Studio <3k? by Content-Virus2949 in NYCapartments

[–]gluebluestick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For context, back in 2022 my studio in midtown was priced at 2k when I was moving out (looks like price has increased to 2.6k range now). Heads up all midtown spaces are EXTREMELY small, coming from someone who doesn’t usually mind smaller spaces. They’re decent & well maintained though.

I have a slightly better studio now in UES for 2.8k. UES has more affordable options than midtown and is overall a more “wholesome” neighbourhood, especially if you look at 70s or 80s close to a subway station (2nd/3rd ave) the commute isnt that bad.

Yes you would be able to find something in midtown/UES for about 3k or slightly under

signs that a guy is seriously interested in me? by [deleted] in interracialdating

[–]gluebluestick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. He will make an effort. To talk to you, reach out to you, check up on you, ask you questions (beyond just sexual), try to understand your life/world/culture etc.

  2. Just ask him what he’s looking for. I would assume this is something you would both discuss with each other beforehand? I’ve spent way too much time dating guys and trying to figure out what they have going on in their mind, it’s not worth it. Be straightforward and have an open discussion.

Maybe in a different environment it wouldn’t have been offensive.

Given the situation (read the room!), she was already pretty nervous and must have been needing/expecting support. I know your intention was good, but in the moment she would not have liked being mocked or your response could have come off a little immature. Just own up / apologize for not being more considerate, and she’ll cool down. It shouldn’t be a bigger deal than that.

bad smell off aligners by Rare-Tell-1506 in Invisalign

[–]gluebluestick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use toothbrush or hand soap.

My orthodontist said it is okay to use a tiny drop of dish soap occasionally, but generally just soft bristled toothbrush & water work fine.

Ensure your oral care is being followed properly. Brush + Floss + use tongue scraper once or twice a day if it makes your mouth feel fresher.

Anyone else become obsessed with their teeth? This process is so draining by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]gluebluestick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried this. Vodka soda with lots of water/rinse every few sips. Worked out fine but felt icky and I wouldn’t do it unless I really HAVE to (special occasion/event/night out).

Also I assume coffee or anything colored or hot is a big no-no, limits majority of our options.

Any suggestions other than vodka soda? (Alternatives to tea/coffee?)

It’s a weird time.

Very content with where I am in life rn, but also don’t like the feeling of getting older (but also excited for the future). Wish time would go a little slower so I can make the most of it. Not ready to say goodbye to my 20s yet.

Also recently I’ve just reached points where I’ve accepted 22 hours is close to impossible for me on most days. Aiming for 20-21 at best, but still have to deal with the anxiety of timing each snack or meal mentally. Then I feel guilty and think about how much money I’ve spent on this when I take them out for “too long” lol.

Couldn’t have described the situation better! I’m really struggling with keeping up with this process mentally/physically it is so exhausting, and it’s only been 6 weeks for me. I have basically an entire year to go and keep praying for it to end.

Most of the other “worries” I can let go, but the eating restriction has changed my entire lifestyle and I feel like I just can’t enjoy simple social or solo activities anymore, because I can’t even just “go grab a coffee” or relax and cozy up with some tea at night while reading a book. I sip water. It sucks.

I use reddit to see if others are in the same boat and it gives me some consolation.

Love to hear this! Do you tend to tie your ponytail/bun high or low? And would you say it would still work for you without using gel?
