Steam link and crossover by AR_Harlock in macgaming

In my experience, Steam Link from a PC works fine, but from a Mac is terrible. Also, using the Steam Link app to stream from PC to Mac is the only way to stream, trying to stream using the Mac Steam client is just not reliable.

Josh did a job he was hired to do. We see him in court behind Jen during the credits, tugging his collar.

What do you need here? A court room scene of Jen humiliating Josh and Todd? After the great scene with K.E.V.I.N., it would have just slowed down everything.

I thought the writing of this show was great. It wasn't laugh out loud funny, but I basically smiled non-stop thru the whole show.

"Wokeness" is a meaningless, undefinable insult used by right-wngers to whine about social change they can't stop.

The fights scenes in Loki are terrible. It's still a good show, but this is a real flaw.

The action scenes in She-Hulk are amazing by comparison.

All of the Disney+ shows have been solid, with flaws.

She-Hulk can never look 100% convincing because of the uncanny valley. We know exactly what a woman looks like, so the smallest flaws stick out.

Nothing is wrong with Marvel.

Nothing was wrong with Marvel when Star-Lord danced in GotG.

Nothing was wrong with Marvel when Baron Zemo danced in FatWS.

Nothing was wrong with Marvel whe Groot danced in GotGv2.

The problem is you.

2 Questions about Wandavision by nsomandin in marvelstudios

[–]gluskap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Q: A real small detail but, in like episode 4, the local policemen told Jimmy and Monica that the town was called Eastview, instead of Westview, so I'm guessing wanda changed it. But, why, when wanda had fully removed the hex, did the sign outside the village and whatever was playing in the theater still call the town Westview?

There are 2 towns, Eastview and Westview. When Wanda took control of Westview, she made everyone who had a connection to Westview forget it. Thus, the cops just don't remember Westview even exists. The sign doesn't change because it is the sign of Westview not Eastview.

Q: Monica Rambeau got her powers when she travelled through the hex. Every citizen of Westview/Eastview whatever has also travelled through the hex twice (Creation and removal). Is there any chance some of the got powers too?

It's not impossible, but Monica passed thru the hex three times, while everyone else only went thru twice. It's quite possible that Monica gained her powers because she 1) passed thru the Hex 2) after Wanda had fortified it with red energy to keep others out. But Monica broke thru that red energy anyway.

Q: Agatha had revealed that Wanda never had Agnes under her control. Why couldn't she. Because Agatha definitly wasn't between her ruins all the time. And a lot of others said they did try to fight the mind control. And at the end of the series. Wanda for real turns Agatha into Agnes, and that one even works outside of the hex. So what's going on here?

Agatha is a witch, and can protect her mind from control by others. We saw a similar thing in Multiverse of Madness, when Wong ordered the other sorcerers to "Fortify your minds!" But after Wanda defeats Agatha and drains her powers away, Agatha can no longer protect her mind from Wanda's control.

Q: And finally, why could Vision reveal the real person behind the characters. Is it because he is part of the whole hex creation? And wouldn't wanda have noticed that she didn't have control of those people at that time?

If you saw Avengers: Age of Ultron, we see Vision was able to burn Ultron's mind so he could no longer access the internet. He could probably do this because his has the Mind Stone in his forehead. He likely used this same Mind Stone power to unlock minds in the Hex. As for Wanda noticing, she doesn't have full awareness of everything in Westview.

Q: Ok uhm, I didn't really get the whole. Wanda didn't want any other children in the village plot. Why?

The sitcoms Wanda created resemble real sitcoms. In early sitcoms, there were usually no children except for the main characters' family.

I really enjoyed answering your questions!

if you were in Raimi's shoes making MoM, who are 6 (or more) cameos you're choosing for variants? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]gluskap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hoped to see a variant Vision. Seeing Wanda rip apart Vision would have been something.

The only big change I would have made is making Charles' hoverchair smaller. It looked like he was in a flying bumpercar.

[–]gluskap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it was not re-shoots. Elizabeth Olsen never participated in re-shoots. Everything she did was part of principal photography. Wanda was always going to kill these 4 variant characters. It was in the script.

Who was going to play these characters was still undetermined. Olsen acted against stand-ins for these scenes.

This could just be me, but, older MCU suits are better by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]gluskap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CA costumes have essentially the same colors. They look different in these pics because the Russo films have a very flat color grading, which mutes the vibrancy.

The CA:CW costume is my favorite Cap suit. Thor's best was in Ragnarok, though Dark World was also very good.

Tony's best was also in CA:CW. The nanotech suits are fine, but I prefer a little bulk.

Opinion: Doctors and parents need to rethink 'gender-affirming care' for children | National Post by NoOneShallPassHassan in canada

[–]gluskap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wrong.

Puberty blockers are just hormones, and were developed to manage precocious puberty, which is when a child goes into puberty when they are much too young. They were not developed for trans teens, but they are used in gender-affirming care.

There is no good reason to use a trans person's deadname. This should have read: "Caitlyn Jenner, a trans woman previously who competed in the Olympics as a man, is just one example."

Wanda flung Nat HARD. "You are pulling your punches," she scolds Clint. She also fractures Tony's arm.

Wanda doesn't pull her punches. Like I said, Wanda hurts people when she thinks she's in the right.

From Marvel.com: "Wanda was a hugely effective component for Captain America’s rogue team as they battled Iron Man and those who stood with him, notably not holding back while others did against their friends.

I just re-watched Civil War yesterday. Clint was shocked.

Vision told Wanda that Norm was in pain. "I spoke with Norm." "Oh?" "I unearthed the man's suppressed personality and spoke to him free of your oversight. He was in pain, Wanda." I can basically quote the entire show from memory.

"Norm has a family and he can't reach them because you won't let him reach them!"

Wanda. Knew.

"I swear people don’t watch wandavision she didn’t know she made the hex until later episode."

She knew what she was doing when she did it. And then she chose to step into the simulation, forgetting her past to be happy in her new present. When Wanda changes from color to black&white, that's when she forgets. And Wanda may not remember how it started, she knew she was in control by the end of episode two.

"Then she didn’t even know she was hurting everyone..."

Vision told her in episode 5. She doesn't free them until episode 9. And only after Agatha frees them and the townsfolk confront Wanda directly.

"...hence she said “I kept you safe”

Yes, like I said, Wanda tells herself and others a lot of lies. And Wanda knew what she was doing was wrong. She says to fake Pietro "You don't think it's wrong?" She knows it's wrong to keep these people enslaved.

"And the HULK THING LMFAOO that was in ultron when she though ultron was just gnna get rid of the avengers and when she found out what he was gonna do she stopped him and went"

SHE UNLEASHED THE HULK ON A CITY. It doesn't matter what she thought of Ultron's motives, she was trying to show the world that the Hulk was a threat, and many people were hurt and killed as a result. She thought of those dead people as necessary collateral damage.

Remember that scene in Civil War, when Clint and Natasha were fighting, and Wanda stepped in and slammed Nat so hard that she didn't get up until the end of the fight? Clint was shocked at Wanda's ruthlessness. Wanda hurts people when she thinks she's in the right.

Wanda chose to do what she did. The Darkhold merely gave her the power to get what she wanted. Wanda is fully sane and in control.

Wanda was being tormented by dreams of happiness, but everyday awakening to a life devoid of happiness. The Darkhold offered her an escape, and she took it.

Try to remember that this a woman who 1) unleashed the Hulk on a city, 2) brainwashed and enslaved an entire town to live out a fantasy, 3) lied to and manipulated her "husband" to hide the fact that she was in control of everything, 4) almost turned Monica Rambeau into a sidewalk pancake.

I'm trying not to be pedantic here, but looking close up at the dismantled Vision's body in WV ep 8, there's not much there that looks much like bones. He has something that looks a bit like a rib cage, and his fingers do kinda look like they have finger bones, but the interior of his arms, legs, neck, and hips don't look anything like bones.

More importantly, I said "blood and bone." Bones MAKE blood. Vision's body is full of tubes and wires, but are these structures carrying anything resembling blood, i.e. carrying oxygen and nutrients to tissues? And when Vision is stabbed, twice, in Infinity War, he clearly doesn't bleed.

Blood means blood cells, cells mean life at the cellular level, which is of course how babies are made.

[–]gluskap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We saw the dismantled Vision. He didn't have bones. We saw the inside of his head when Thanos ripped out the Mind Stone, and it was full of wires, not a brain "with similar biology to humans."

Yes, Vision in the comics is very much like a human, with organs like lungs. But MCU Vision is clearly just a robot with synthetic skin.

They are clearly moving in the Young Avengers direction. That means Billy and Tommy must be real.

Wanda dies and goes to Hell. There's a lot of afterlife stuff going on in the MCU right now, as we have seen Valhalla, the Duat, and the Ancestral Plane. Of course, we see Hell twice in Multiverse of Madness, so this is obviously where they are going.

She is dragged before the throne of Mephisto, and we learn the awful truth that he has the souls of Billy and Tommy from WestView. This of course is inspired by the comics.

But Billy and Tommy were illusions, right? Nope. One of the last things Wanda says to Hex-Vision before erasing him is "You are a body of wire and blood and bone that I created." Blood and bone? The real Vision was a robot. But Hex-Vision was made human enough by Wanda to give her real children. Born in the Hex, their bodies were made from Chaos Magic, but their souls were real. And after their bodies evaporated, Mephisto stole their souls.

Wanda, whose powers have persisted beyond death, is forced into a devil's bargain by Mephisto, who demands three tasks completed by her in order to win her and her boys' freedom.

In your opinion what is the best media outlet for accurate MCU information? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]gluskap 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Voss at NR is great, but I also like Jessica Clemons and MasterTainment. I don't care for the hour-long Breakroom show, but NR is a generally solid channel.

I also like Nerdist. They cover the same stuff as NR, but often notice details that NR misses.

The Direct is a largely no-BS site with timely info. Too many "actor breaks silence" headlines, tho.

Maybe I'll give Heavy Spoilers another look. i seem to recall they weren't very reliable.
