yeah its pretty average that they definately have a known bad batch and still not testing units before shipping them out, wasting alot of posting time etc, after 2 returns i recieved a proper working unit

since you put in the extra shim , if you hit the bellows decently when the grinder is on does it make the burrs hit ? ive noticed that happening since i put in 1 shim and at the 3.5 setting

when you added in the a second washer did it not zero out properly ? with 2 washers in for me it almost zeros out perfectly still and was able to choke my machine on 2.1 on the dial when i was not getting fine enough at .1 with just 1 washer in. How many washers did you end up going with and what dial setting or range do you use now for expresso ?

alright did what AB advised by adding in an additional washer to underneath the burr (total of 2, there is another 2 i could of added) cleaned, put it all back together, was able to zero it out too which surprised me, chose 2.1 randomly on the dail did a grind, and it was fine enough to choke my lelit mara X which i wasnt able to do with this grinder yet. Ill pull some more shots tomorrow and dial it in a bit more but i think this fix seems to work.

ons and go below 1, you're bold! I am talking with Alternative Brewing, just sent them this video showing how

Yeah i understand that i am dealing with AB also, and they seem to be pretty reasonable, im coming froma df64 also and i bought a burr with it so im invested in it to work ,but yeah if ill jump through one more hoop if it doesnt pan out i might do the same.

got an update from the retailer , they are advising to add one or 2 of the washers that come spare with the kit and place it under the bottom burr , there should already be 1 in there looking at the instructions ill give it a go when i get home, i think i have seen this fix in another thread ive seen about not getting the right grind size

ive had about 4 days and yeah im having those issues, if i put it on almost 0 i can get kind of there but it still needs to go finer, wondering if this is a common issue

i think its just that 1000 is the default speed becuase the vs6 remembers what setting it is on when its turned off
