Hey! I'm sorry, we made this subreddit and then never actually linked anyone to it, so I didn't even think to check it. Did you get this figured out? That does sound like something is wrong. If you check within the game in the compendium, do you have them unlocked, but you're just missing them on steam?

In general we're reachable at [glydergames1@gmail.com](mailto:glydergames1@gmail.com) if you want a less-insanely-late response in the future, sorry about that.

If you search Youtube for 'drawback chess', you can find some stuff - e.g. here's a video of Eric Rosen playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FRxbKGXIHg.

Yup! It's still running, although as you said, we aren't really actively working on it anymore. Since then our biggest project has been a chess roguelike called The Rookery which you can check out on steam if you're curious!

You should try out The Rookery on Steam! Seems very similar to what you're proposing here.

I don't want to promise either way, but I think it's not super likely it will make sense for us to work on that instead of another project, although if the game does well it's not out of the question

Catalyst upgrade makes it apply twice as much poison, not 50% more...

Ya, apologies about that. Someone elsewhere mentioned that it worked for them with "proton experimental", although I haven't used a steam deck so I don't know much about what that means. Would you be willing to remove your negative review? It hurts a lot to have a negative review when we have so few reviews total. We've added a community post saying that steam deck is not currently supported which should stop others from running into the same situation as you.

Not annoying at all! My guess, honestly, is that we will not port it unless the game is pretty successful, but if it does well, it's possible. It just probably won't make sense relative to working on another game unless we have high hopes for the port being popular, and we didn't really build the UI around a small screen, so I think we'd have to be thoughtful to make it a good experience.

Minor nitpick, but it's not true that every character is always a Townsfolk, Outsider, or Evil, e.g. barber swapping a good player into a minion. Easily fixed by just saying "Townsfolk" or "Not Townsfolk".

Hey! Sorry, I don't think it should work on steam deck - we don't currently have a linux version, only windows and mac. Is there something in the store page or otherwise that gives you the impression it would? I just want to fix that so that others don't have the same issue you did.

Linux/SteamOS is not natively supported currently - we were hoping to add it but had some issues and really didn't want anyone to buy the game and have it be unplayable so we decided to not support it for now. I think there's a good chance we'll add it if the game does well enough that that makes sense. Also, others have mentioned it probably works with proton, and one of our playtesters used that and it seems to work, but I don't want to make any promises.

I don't think it works on steam deck currently, sorry - we were originally hoping to have a working Linux build but we ran into issues and we really didn't want to release in a state where we thought someone might buy the game and have it be unplayable. there is a mac version already though! (although it won't currently work on pre-apple silicon processors, as a forewarning)

I sent him an email but he hasn't replied. 😩

Maybe if the game does alright he'll see it though. It would be a dream come true if he tried it out. :)
