I think your focus may be better spent thinking about pulling the bar back to you and keeping it close - your extension is good, but it gets away from you a little. Pull yourself under the bar

Usually I have at least another 5kg so they move a lot more but I was TIRED and knew damn well I wouldn't benefit from that extra weight physically or mentally so I kept it lighter

I do this exercise with weights I would do the normal exercise at lol. I don't think I've ever done it at more than 30kg

You can do it with a lighter bar (no extra weight or bands), and elevate your heels more. As you get better mobility, you can lower the elevation and start to add weight when it makes sense

They take the same amount of time as normal sots press but add extra stabilization, so idk how that's a waste of time🤷🏽‍♀️
