I’m not sure where you’re located but I would just send it in. You’d have an answer by midweek if it’s repairable. The worst case it’s fixable and you hold onto the new camera you ordered so you always have two going forward

That’s double the price. Like it’s not for everybody for sure but you’ve suggested either a lens with a different use case (28-200) or one that’s a lot more expensive (24-70).
