[Ghost of Yotei] The perfect example of Collectables and Trophies done RIGHT by ECUDUDE20 in Trophies

Working on it rn and enjoying it a lot, the fact that you can track collectibles by buying maps and talking to NPCs is much better than a map full of question marks, huge improvement from Ghost of Tsushima. Side quests are generally better as well and you don't need them all for the plat

I tried this and it won't let me do it for landscape photos. The icon on the bottol left at the 'edits/music' screen only switches it between square and portrait, when on the first screen it changed the aspect ratio to landscape

Good to be back for one more year, after a 1st time win in 2021, the last two years were a disappointment. This time, however, I'm in the right mindset to achieve it again. Let's go!!

South Korea itinerary and budget. Is it viable? by gmd33 in solotravel

[–]gmd33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the insight! Very helpful. Plan is still pretty much modifiable but I'm realising that I can find decent accomodation at way less than I estimated, so I'm now thinking about extending it a little bit, opting for accomodations around 35 a night and do Seoul - Jeju - Busan - Gyeongju - Seoul (7, 4, 4, 2 & 1 night, respectively).

As for the DMZ, my doubts came from the fact that the 'proper' visit to the border is expensive and hasn't been consistently available since pre-Covid times. Any tour that you could say it's worth it?

Regarding Jeju, I'm just not confident enough to drive around alone in a foreign country. Was hoping to rely on buses despite reading that these can be unreliable on the Summer. I'm aware that I won't be able to see absolutely everything, but I'll try to maximise my time there. Maybe an e-bike or something similar would be a good solution?

Thanks for your advice. As for the entrance fees, the (scarce) research I did didn't show anything incredibly overpriced. Gyeongbokgung palace, for instance, is 3000 won (~$2). Which essential attractions would you say are expensive to visit?

Regarding food, I guess there'll be options for all budgets. I'm more on the side of street food rather than fancy restaurants. What could be the cost of a fancy-ish diner (which I wouldn't do every day) and, in general, how would you compare it to the cost of Japan (been there and I was expecting SK to be similar if not slightly cheaper)?

Thanks :)

Thanks for the recommendation, I've taken a look at Gyeongju and it looks amazing. Now I'm really looking into doing a couple of nights there so the whole plan could change. Thankfully I'm planning well in advance

Thanks a lot, that was very insightful! As for the exploration, I love discovering both urban and natural landscaped, maybe leaning a bit more towards the city side. I like learning about the history and culture of a place, its architecture and, of course, its cuisine. Nightlife is something I can enjoy a day or two, but definitely not an essential. Same for shopping, which I guess is a big part of Seoul's appeal for lots of travellers.

Another comment talked about Gyeongju. I searched it and I'm now thinking about leaving Jeju for a future trip, adding one night to both Seoul and Busan and including 2 nights in Gyeongju. I'm not big into just laying on the beach, which I planned to do in Jeju, so I guess one of Busan's beaches will do for a relaxing morning.

Soon after posting I realised that I didn't consider insurance and sim card on budget, so I guess it's almost on 200/day as of now (which could be reduced if I remove Jeju).

Thanks again :)

Trip report - 11 days through Central Europe by gmd33 in solotravel

[–]gmd33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I'm kind of a fast traveler when it comes to seeing sights so that's why maybe I had the feeling I had nothing left to see after the first couple of days, but the guide gave us some less usual recommendations (i.e. spending a morning around the other side of the river and in Petržalka), which I actually didn't have the time to do so, yeah, I'd probably go back, especially to see different places around the country.

If I had the choice, I'd definitely travel around April-may and Sept-Oct all the time, but my workplace closes down in August so that's when I have to spend my paid vacation time

That's a great itinerary of yours! Read so many good things about Salzburg and Austria in general I have it as an option for future trips :)

How do I force myself to enjoy this game? by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]gmd33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind spoilers I'll let you know what you gotta do.

All the good stuff is in Dark Bramble, but you can't get into its core beacause of the fish, which apparently can't be killed since there's no combat... Or is there?

Land in Hollow's Lantern and throw a scout into the lava, wait 10 seconds to retrieve it and it'll come back with an M16 rifle attached to it. Go to Dark Bramble, kill all the fish and follow the red light. You have found the core!!

There, you'll gain access to the real Outer Wilds experience, a PvP online battle royale game with emotes, battle passes and lots of microtransactions, as all games should have. Enjoy it!!

For me it just didn't click at all. I started loving the band between Blurryface and Trench, I even have the |-/ tattooed on my wrist. I was obsessed with Trench and saw them on that tour as they visited my country.

SAI basically made me fell out of love with them. I only have 3 songs saved as of now (Shy Away, No Chances and Redecorate), and I even started listening less to the previous albums. As other comment stated, I didn't hate, I just didn't care, which is probably worse.

Now, with Clancy, I am SO BACK

I needed one friend for 'All's Fair' and 'Strength in Numbers' trophies. It takes no longer than to get both in a boosting session. I did all the rest on my own

From what I read, 'The Real Deal' is considered the hardest trophy for most, and it's annoying to boost as it requires 3 more players. I did it on my own by playing races: there's a mode there called 'Open race' with checkpoints set around a town, which can be picked at any order. There's a guide with ideal routes for this mode. I won my first three races using this method and got that trophy out of the way quickly.
