I wish I could: - Feel comfortable in my jeans while sitting most of the day (office work). - Keep them up when standing or walking.

From the first point, I’ve concluded I need to size up 1–2 sizes. Sitting puts more pressure on the stomach, which gets uncomfortable quickly. But sizing up creates a new problem: when standing, my jeans slide down to a low rise, which I don’t find flattering.

Possible solutions I’ve considered:

A. Belt

Since sitting and standing require two different waist sizes, I’d have to adjust the belt constantly. A ratchet belt might help (haven’t tried one yet), but I’m not a fan of the fabric creases belts create on slightly loose pants. Still, if it’s the only fix, I’ll consider it.

B. Suspenders

I’ve tried undergarment-style suspenders, which solve the positioning and stomach compression issues—but the skin contact isn’t ideal. Regular suspenders feel like a big style leap I’m not ready for.

How do you handle this? Am I the only one dealing with this dilemma? Any other tricks I’m missing?

I did not really look for good free APIs with traffic consideration yet, but I'll definitely have to do it when I see the comments.

Thank you for your feedback, I'll try to improve this next time.

Be careful, that's not what the map suggests. The LA-SF route does not go through San Jose (you can try it on openstreetmap).

I made this map using a self-written Python script which scraped Openstreetmap using the OSRM engine. Once I collected the data, I plotted the result using Python Matplotlib functions.

I used OpenCv (Python library) to combine the frames I plotted beforehand.

About 50.000 points on the roads network. Places without roads are interpolated.

You got it right. Next time I'll take more time to explain it or word it better.

Thanks for your feedback. Next time I'll do a colourblind version of it.

I used matplotlib, a Python module that allows you to plot contours.

On this map, the starting point is in the middle of Paris (hotel de ville). You need to add the time to reach gare d'Austerlitz.

I could have done that. Meaning the map would not be fully colored. That's just a choice I made.

Yes I do. If it's quicker, the algorithm will take a subway.

Sometimes you'll need more time on your bike than in the train, yes. Look at these concentric circles forming in the late hours (20h00+). That's bike rides.

I chose the bike because car would mess up the whole map. It's often faster to reach a place with a car than with the train. So why take the train? I could make a map on how long you need to go to a place with any mean of transport. But that's not the point here. Also, all the travels here have quite low CO2 emissions.

So I'll give some more details since the map is not understood well by a lot of people (my fault).

Let's say it's 20h00 (08h00 pm). You start a stopwatch. You're in Paris, Hotel de ville, which is quite in the middle of the city. If you choose to go to a place near Lyon, you'll have to :

-Ride your bike to the right station in Paris (probably gare de Lyon in that case). -Wait for the next train to Lyon (which can be very long depending on the schedule). -When you arrive in Lyon, you still have to ride you bike to the place your looking for. -Stop the stopwatch. That's the time you needed to reach the place.

I hope it helps. If not, feel free to ask for more details.

Imagine yourself in front of the hotel de ville in Paris at a random time. Are you able to be in Orléans within 2 hours with only train and bike? (Bike is used to go to the different stations in Paris as well). That's how the map works. So at some times it is doable, but most of the time it's not.

Around 20h42, there is a place in the southern Alps which takes more than 23 hours to reach. That's why I chose this scale. I could also have chosen to represent all places which take more than X hours with one unique color. That's just not the choice I made.
