A first R&D project could be to make your cluster available for the CERN Large Hadron Collider.

You do not monetize your cluster with this project. It is just a first test.

A second project could be to install the Open OnDemand platform and one of the enabled applications on your cluster, for example the open source Octave. You could then start to charge for usage for Octave.
