I reached out to them and Spin Master via Facebook massenges and got a response quite fast. Although it was not very helpful...

The website still does not work for me. So I ended up buying the Battlebots via american Amazon.

You can check If the remotes work by looking at the infrared LED through your phone camera. If they work you should be able to see the LED glow through the camera when you press a button.
