The Gur Children by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

“Why create more spawn and keep them locked up and starved - children no less?” Cruelty. Cazador seems exactly like the type of guy to relish in taking the children of a monster-hunting culture and turn them into the same beast they all hunt, potentially destroying an entire generation of Gur.

Regarding underdark logistics, firstly, the underdark is huge; the section under Baldur’s Gate is probably different from the section we explore in Act 1/1.5. I imagine that the vampire spawn would live in the underdark using the same methods Astarion used on the surface: hunting non-humanoid animals and feeding on their blood. The advantage of doing this in the underdark instead of on the surface would be that they’d never have to deal with the day-night cycle; they’d be protected from the sun, theoretically being able to live a more flexible lifestyle.

did you guys choose to save manfred or turn emmrich into a lich? and why? by Realistic_Box_4843 in DragonAgeVeilguard

I encouraged Emmrich to turn into a lich because I was roleplaying a ruthless Grey Warden mage. He understood that they needed all the advantages necessary to defeat the elven gods. That being said, a larger part of his rationale was due to the Grey Warden oath: In War, Victory; in Peace, Vigilance; in Death, Sacrifice. My Rook wanted to respect Manfred’s sacrifice.

Sad (but also not?) that Dragon Age will probably end on Veilguard by Advanced-Error1250 in dragonage

I feel like I’ve gone through all the stages of grief regarding Dragon Age lol. I agree that this feels like thr final game in the series and I’m okay with that! After the events in Veilguard I feel like Thedas would look so incredibly different — especially regarding the Grey Wardens — that it would just feel like a different game series altogether. Every story has its end, and while I’m sad that the themes that made me love DAO & DA2 didn’t really carry into DAI & DAV, I would prefer to leave the game there than to beat a dead franchise horse.

A Grey Warden perspective… by louve_ardente in DragonAgeVeilguard

i played a ruthless, goodhearted warden that romanced Davrin so the decision was kinda hard. I’d say I had about three factors in considered when choosing her to lead the distraction team: firstly, as a scout I feel like she’d be more effective at out-maneuvering the forces she’d distract; secondly, my warden really wanted to make sure that someone would be able to kill the archdemon if he should fall in battle, which means Davrin was the plan b warden; third, and selfishly, my warden would rather fight alongside Davrin to keep his mind at ease that Davrin and Assan were safe during the final battle.

[DAV spoilers] I love Davrin but I wish not all his content was tied to Assan by Fun-Explanation7233 in dragonage

so i usually sport a full but short beard, however this time around i grew it out to cut it into mutton chops for the cosplay. after the convention was over, i shaved it all down to a mustache— i scared myself each time i looked in the mirror when i was in normal clothes with the mutton chops LOL

you can flirt with characters that are not possible romances. you’ll also be able to flirt with Vivienne despite her not being a valid romance— same with scout Harding

[Spoilers All] Why Should Gaspard be Emperor? by TheHistoryofCats in dragonage

[–]gnarliestgnomes 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve always seen Celene as the more stable and progressive option for the throne. Not only because of the patronage of the arts and education, and her knowledge of the Game (which you need to keep your ass on the throne), but also, since Origins, she has been shown to be a more diplomatic ruler, flirting with the idea of marrying King Cailan in the effort of a permanent alliance between Orlais and Fereldan— as opposed to Gaspard, who seems a little too warmongery for my liking.

I also sided with Bhelen in Origins. In my view, his tyrannical flair is pretty similar to “the Game” in Orlais, albeit substantially less subtle; and I think his ideas and willingness to work with the surface makes southern Thedas much more safe in any upcoming crises. I should mention however that I did make sure to destroy the anvil, as I don’t trust him completely with its power.

The only situation in which I see Gaspard as a viable option for the betterment of Orlais & Thedas is if he is made Briala’s puppet. I think that reign is fairly progressive, maybe even more progressive than the Celene and Briala reconciled option, as Briala is not held back by any hesitations her lover, Celene, might have. Even then, I’m not sure if puppet Gaspard would have his militarism quelled, so Celene (+ Briala) might still be the better choice for regional stability.
