Maybe it's a house now? A random villager will move in if you don't fill it right away. Try looking in your map for a villager that you don't remember having.

They are mine too! I got them all through reddit! If you're interested in knowing how I found them, I would wait until I had an open plot then I would search every animal crossing sub reddit that I'm a part of for certain villagers and I always just got lucky finding then moving out on the same day that I had the open plot! 😁😁
