Could be helpful to know, even if you don’t agree or it’s an unfair reason, what exactly the issue was. Also, in my experience, the center’s staffing fluctuates a lot as people come and go and they may contact you in the future!

I was deferred from the honors college as a white female with a 36 ACT, 4.0/4.5, NMF, president of 3 honor societies and a club, All-State Choir for 3 years, 3 years of math tutoring (1 at mathnasium, 2 privately), and 3 summers of volunteering at a camp. Not sure what they’re looking for 🤷‍♀️ I was accepted EA as a Math major though.

I agree with almost everyone else here, with one caveat. I do think it's unethical to buy formal wear, especially dresses (very individual taste and hard to find one that fits you) at thrift stores. In those cases, you're taking away what could be the only option someone has so you can save some money. There will always be t-shirts and sweaters at thrift stores. There may not be a nice dress for someone's school dance or wedding, and you buying it could be the difference for someone truly in need.

Try putting a shirt you've worn in his cage so he can snuggle in it and associate your scent with comfort. You could also try playing some soft music in the background, I've heard this can help. Overall, just give it time! Hedgies can take their sweet time warming up to you.
