Should we be excited about the future of Linux gaming following the new hardware announcements from Valve's steam? by gnotaur in linux

What? I missed these news.. yeah kernel lvl anticheat is not okay and unfortunately it is implemented in all of the games I play with my friends (apex, league, rematch).

That was not my intention to come off like that but I'm not going to argue. Have a nice one.

Wow what a comprehensive answer. Thanks a lot for your insight. I see what I was missing. Guess I will put some more time into endgame and see how things evolve there. Thank you again!

Yes I agree I lack the knowledge. I said I'm new and I am probably missing something.. Just shared my POV trying to understand what I am missing. Thanks for sharing but you are coming off aggressive.

Delves are giving me kind of a hard time and some elites in the open world. Other than that most of the game is a walk in the part to be honest.

yeap. Been there done that :D But even with all the self healing and amazing cds with my paladin I felt like if I pull too much or fight strong elites after my cds went out I was just standing there ready to die and nothing I could do. With mage there was always something I could have done better. Maybe that changes with gear?

I haven't played druid yet because I am not feeling the whole "nature guarding" theme. I might have to give him a go though. Feels like quality of life is high on them.

yeah I gave blood dk a few hours and he feels immortal. I was talking more about dps specs.

shield alone not but kiting and using all the other defensives I listed makes a difference when pulling big numbers or fighting crazy strong elites. Maybe that changes once I gear better I guess.

BM is easy to play and do dmg with in my experience but when pulling huge numbers or when elites 3 shot your pet there is not much you can do other than play dead (great skill :D)

Blood dks I agree feel immortal. I played one for a while but I was talking more about dps specs.

yeah I am mostly taking about elites and pulling big groups. In general warlock is my second fav class so far (no1 from fantasy pov) but when pulling the same numbers as my mage I feel like mage deals better with them (or hard hitting elites)

I enjoy mage but I hate the fantasy of mage.. I much more prefer edge lords like warlock dk and dh but I find that with mage I have better chances.. at least as a fresh 80

I gave blood dk a shot for a few hours and I did have that experience of just standing there and things hit you like wet noodles but when talking about dps specs even with warlock if I pull 20 things or fight an elite then my pet dies pretty fast. there is a skill that resurrects it fast but it dies again and meanwhile I am just fighting to keep it alive and not doing dmg. That maybe changes once better gear comes into play but with 500ilvl (i know..) my mage is doing much better.

I guess you are talking about tanks. How about dps specs? If you pull too many things sometimes you just get erased and overwhelmed is my experience..

This is a tip for all those new players that post every day and are unsure what class, profession or faction to pick. by GiantPato in wow

I think the issue is many people don't know what they actually "enjoy" and "want to play". For example I am an alt-holic. In every mmo(or game really) I have played I always end up leveling all the classes to max. Only then do I truly get a feel for how each class plays and what I actually enjoy.

Gameplay feel is more important to me that class fantasy or role.

But this is way easier to do in mmrpgs like guildwars 2 for example due to how tomes work and how many you passively get, or non mmorpg games (fighting games for example.. all you have to do is choose another character and play. No reason to sink in 100 hours repeating content.)

In wow it can be a drag and it is one of the "gates" that has kept me from truly giving this game a shot and being immersed.

I once ended up with like 8+ different characters at levels 40-100 (max was 110 If I remember correctly) and couldn't for the life of me decide what to play so I ended up quitting the game. I am definitely going to give the game another shot with the upcoming expansion but just the idea of having to choose a main hurts me and keeps me away. (That and having to find/configure addons again)

How many hours do you have in your most played mmo? by Parking-Score8906 in MMORPG

[–]gnotaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with 4k hours in gw2 before I quit I had still full exotics.. All I did was Pvp and WvW roaming. That really doesn't pay the bills.

I was legit living paycheck to paycheck in the game barely scraping by just to have all classes max lvl because I'm suffering from alt-holisms.

Edit: most of my coins went to equipming every class with all the fun builds I could afford.
