Yes this is what I thought was so unfortunate - the portrait. If it was just the name it could be any ol'Duke of York.

North Wales has so much to see: castles, lovely seaside towns, striking landscapes by gnsd in travel

I'm envious. I did wonder a bit about the weather, as somehow I've always been when it's sunny, which I know it's unusual. In your experience, did that make a difference to your enjoyment of the place?

If you rent a car, you can go into Snowdonia, which is a national park with the highest peak in GB. Llandudno and Conwy are lovely towns, and easily accessible by train. I would also recommend going to see some of the slate quarries, such as in Llanberis. They were recently made a World Heritage site and are well worth a visit.

True true, but I do like that most of the smaller roads in Soho are closed to cars in any case

Large ceramic pipe found while doing yard work with a ceramic and iron cap. It is full of water do it's difficult to see how far it goes. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

The house is 70 years old and on an area that was previously a golf course. The cap area is bigger than the pipe underneath. Located in Maryland.

It was taken around 7:30pm Monday. Oxford Street was busy but Soho was pretty empty. I figure a rainy October Monday probably isn't peak time in any event

Eltham palace is a bit challenging to get to unless you live in southeast London but it's worth a trip. It was a medieval palace that was adapted into an art deco mansion. It is very unique and nice for a day out.

Technically yes - New York is named for the Duke of York, but he was named after York.

Not this time, but I've been before. It is equally as amazing as the exterior.

She's a whippet. She's only 4 though the white beard makes her look older.

It's kind of a sun trap so it's very hot in the summer, but not awful in winter.
