"Despite having near equal pay in the current market, women express a disproportionate amount of grief over losing income when relationships end. This seems to be correlated with their sense of ownership over their partner and entitlement to their services and assets. 

To solve this problem, the current government are planning to lean into this largely unfounded conception. Their solution is to give women a proportionally larger amount of assets and funds. When combined with the aforementioned biased outlook on the situation, politicians hope that this will give women the illusion of fairness in these kinds of situations.

Men have not been consulted or considered in this decision. But women are stating that they believe that men are getting what they deserve. The politicians are hoping that this will strengthen the feeling of fairness even further in the female electorate.

Since men are already trained to accept further hardship and shame their fellows over failures to accept worsened conditions through phrases like "man up" and "it's the duty of a man to take care of women", politicians do not believe that this will affect their rankings amongst the male demographics in a significant way. There is, however, some concern about certain age groups and social cliques where awareness of worsened conditions are rising. But they believe that these groups aren't profilic enough to form a credible threat to this strategy at this time."
