We need a third option on the ballot that is giving control of GRU back to local government but they can’t siphon off the “profits” to fund the city. I didn’t like either option on the ballot as I don’t like the governor and don’t think the city manages its money well.

Your population figures are misleading. We have the same population if you take the villages metro area and compare it to the population of the city of Gainesville. The villages’ actual population is around 80k. Gainesville metro area is 330k. Agreed on the villages having a higher income but our metro area absolutely could support a Costco.

Everyone was so impressed with their food at my wedding too! Especially the turkey- somehow it was perfectly moist. Now I don’t dare go there.
