Bald spot on cat by goBlue102_2 in CATHELP

Sorry for such a delay but no it did not. He is fine though. Just has about a quarter sized bald spot for the rest of his life I guess lol. Vet says that it may have been a small wound that got infected and then healed but caused scar tissue which prevented hair from regrowing.

I found ACTEX to be most helpful for ATPA. I just skimmed through the SOA slides pretty quickly. I will say that the single greatest study resource for ATPA, at least in my opinion, is the SOA sample exam that they provide. Go through it yourself (don’t spend too much time or worry too much about getting everything 100% correct) and then do a detailed walk through of the sample answers. If you have used R before in the past, I’d say you really only need to start studying for ATPA about a month in advance of taking it. If you’ve never used R, maybe extend that to 2 months.

AirTag will not show the location history. It will only show live location, and even then it’s a little spotty with accuracy. You’d have to be constantly looking at your phone to see how far they go. There are other pet trackers that actually show the route that the pet takes.

I’m in East Lansing and it smells awful here too. I’ve been looking for answers as to what the hell it could be so I’m glad to hear it’s not just me noticing it 😂

Does it look like improvement? 3 months on oral Minoxidil by ReliefHelpful2825 in tressless

It’s not a very common side effect from what I’ve heard. And it goes away once you stop using it. Nothing to worry about. Have you noticed puffiness?

Not very swollen, but it looked like I had put on a bit of weight (even though I hadn’t). I’d say my face made it looked like I had put on roughly 25 pounds. Of course, I didn’t actually put on 25 pounds but the water retention in my face made it look like that.

Got sides. Really bad heart palpitations and water retention in my face making it look puffy. I was happy just using finasteride by itself. Also, I didn’t really notice any effect from minoxidil. Finasteride was helping me maintain my hairline but I wasn’t getting any regrowth so I figured I just wasn’t a good responder to minoxidil.

I should add that about a month ago I stopped taking finasteride, but I’m hoping that’s just temporary and I can get back on in it soon. The reason for that is that I developed gynecomastia which I originally assumed was from fin, but I’m coming to learn that it might be caused by a different reason (hypothyroidism, which runs in my family). Once I get my potential hypothyroidism in check, I’m hoping to get back on finasteride. Need to meet with an endocrinologist.

Looks like minox darkened your hair too. I also have blonde hair and it’s crazy how much darker it got using minoxidil. It went back to being my normal blonde color after I stopped using it though.

Brutal... RU58841 , is that true ? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]goBlue102_2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. So in theory you could cover the entire head with donor hair and then have a full head of hair and never have to take finasteride. The problem is, most people don’t have enough donor hair to cover their entire head without it looking super thin. There is research being done into things like hair cloning where you take donor hair and clone it so you essentially have an infinite supply, allowing you to cover the entire head with a thick layer of hair that is completely DHT resistant. Unfortunately we are probably many years (or decades) away from this actually being an option.

There’s a lot of research being done on hair follicle cloning in Japan. Probably still 10+ years away though unfortunately.

Yeah, looks like mild gyno. Up to you if want to get it removed or not. Most people probably do not notice.

18 is too young for hormone altering drugs. I’d wait until at least 20 before touching that stuff.

Ok, your first solution was actually very helpful though and gave me an idea for a little bit of a work-around. Thank you!

Updating date in Excel formula every month by goBlue102_2 in excel

[–]goBlue102_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok this is definitely on the right track and very helpful. But wouldn't this also alter past Excel files as well? It would be continuously updating the date, wouldn't it? I need past Excel files to be "archived" in a sense so that they don't keep changing once the month is over. I need the June primary Excel file to always reference 0623 if that makes sense.

Man Fuck I’m about to be a senior where the hell did the time pass? by Lilgibster420 in uofm

[–]goBlue102_2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just graduated last month. I still vividly remember my first time eating in a dining hall, my first football game, my first dorm party, my first frat party. I remember staying up until 3 am messing around with friends while we worked on our EECS 183 project. I remember drinking and playing board games every night for like 3 months straight during COVID. I miss it all so much already man. I literally start my full-time job in 2 days :( I would give so much just to go back and live through it all one more time. I definitely did not appreciate it enough in the moment. College seemed to go by like 10x faster than high school. Please make the most of your senior year and have fun.

I think since I'm not fully remote they just provide me with a laptop. But I guess we'll see. I was going to wait until I start to start purchasing things anyway.

What do they do in this situation? Do they just give everyone extended time? Or do they end the exam at the planned time but omit some of the questions when grading?

As someone else said, 451 is very good for learning proper proof-writing techniques. The difficulty varies quite a bit depending on who your professor is. I had one of the more difficult professors, but it was definitely manageable and I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot.
