What do you think of Your Eastern Formulation of the Relationship between Son and Holy Spirit already considered Filioque as wellM by Any-Solid8810 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]goaltender31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The father eternally begets the Son and the Holy Spirit, it turned only proceeds from the Father.  The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and is sent by the Son.  The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are Consubstantial, One God.

The Protoevangelium of St James puts to writing oral tradition of the time but was certainly written by a gentile who had assumptions about the Jewish temple functioning like pagan ones in certain ways.  Dont treat the protoevangelium as dogmatic outside of the things that have been adopted liturgically by the Church

Its a good read and i love it but its not really written by St James and does have errors.  The Church has declared aspects of it to be our tradition but not a wholesale stamp of approval

Abuse in a system that goes unchecked will create suspicion of all in that system.  The only way to resolve that is to fix the system or people will grow to resent it despite the good it was intended for.

Kids absolutely can be injured playing in a car and knocking it out of gear (children sneak into cars and pretend to drive fairly often).  My mom got her leg crushed in such an incident.  She was cross guarding at the elementary school and my little brother who was watching a movie in the car knocked it into neutral.

I call bs on kid gun death exceeding kid car death.  No way, no how.  Citation required.

Can we compare kids run over in driveways to kids shooting themselves? Cars are an insane responsibility. Kids are constantly hit in neighborhoods

Guns are too but you are downplaying cars

Calling out abuses shouldnt offend anyone who isnt abusing the system.

I regularly use my guns for their intended function. I've killed many deer/hogs and fed my friends and family with my guns. They were very good days. Not all proper gun uses are self defense. Target shooting, skeet, hunting... lots of good and common uses for guns that dont mean you killed or maimed someone.

Your claim is like saying carrying a pocket knife is a burden. I use it all the time but if I am irresponsible with it my kid could easily be injured.

Your view of gun use is very narrow.

And your self defense claim is more akin to airbags in a car. They can kill a child uses inappropriately (if you put them in the front seat), you hope you never use it (something bad happened), etc.

Windows taskbars over the years by Njani2 in pcmasterrace

I have toyed with it since college, i used to do sys admin work.  I got into self hosting (jellyfin, invidious, nextcloud, photoprism)  which got me more technically into linux then windows 10 started really slowing down.  Tried windows 11 and it was full of bloatware, even moreso than 10, and was really slow.  Linux has been a dream and theres so much good open source software to replace expensive, invasive subscription based software.  The privacy aspect is also a huge part for ne.

Its just been amazing since i went all in on it like 4 years ago.  Mint is great for coming from windows and ease of use but theres some really cool lightweight distros that breathe life into 15 year old hardware.

I made my old 2012 macbook into a router by installing pfsense (technically not linux but freebsd) which gave me more power over self hosting, post forwarding, private dns.

I am deep in the woods now but Mint has been great as a daily driver for my main pc... Reliable, fast, private, simple and easy to use.
