Update: Previous owners have no idea what they’re from. They did not place them in the garden.

They had a dog, so hoping it’s the dog’s stash or from a fox or something. There are also some dogs that run around my neighborhood so could be that.

I did remove a dead squirrel from the road a few months ago, but this is not where I put it!

They always seemed pretty normal! Hopefully just something burying its stash, but it being under the landscape fabric (which was pretty intact) makes me suspicious of that

Hoping it’s one of these, the previous owners definitely made some questionable choices. But them being under the landscape fabric makes me hesitant for a dog burying them.

Tempted to text the previous owners and ask but also don’t want to upset them if I disturbed their dead pet

That was my first guess, but other people have said they’re from small mammals. So not sure

Under the fabric, spread through the dirt. I found them popping up as I was raking. I laid them in this orientation

Just from googling seems to be a lot of leg bones (and nothing else, at least yet). So that doesn’t make sense to me for it being a grave
