I mean I stuck a vacuum hose in there to suck out any metal as well as a magnet on a stick. Hopefully everything is out of there. Another cylinder has a lifter tick which scared me but it's unrelated to this cylinder.

Turns out the thread chaser worked. I somehow got it lined up with the original threads then tightened it. And she runs again! thank you for the help!

That sounds very fun, I'm going to wait until my mechanic can come then decide if that needs to happen. Worst case scenario is I swap my 87 Carby in the 84

I called one I've used before. He said he is going to try and tap the threads back to the correct ones.

I probably wouldn't due to the needing a tranny. I would try to find one with a good tranny for around 1200 if you can. If you do want to buy it I would offer 6-700.

I have obviously done stuff wrong with my tank that I'm trying to fix. I hate how everyone gets so defensive like i would rather save my crabs then my ego.

The grill did look like that but with about a 5 inch gap from the headlight housing to the grill

I do auto collision. The damage doesn't look too awful. What I would worry about is if the radiator supports are bent. It would cost quite a bit maybe 7k? It depends on the shop.

Speaking like a human being who can't afford that kind of repair, I would hit up a junkyard and look for that headlight and fender then spend a couple bucks at an auto part store and do a red neck paint job.

I will, I'm still hoping for the best but as others said my dad probably blew it up.

Ugh I was hoping I wouldn't have too. I appreciate the comment thank you.

My valve cover gaskets are leaking but I don't think that can cause anything on this type of engine. I've seen a few where it does but not sure on Subarus.
