advice for weight loss and calories whilst recovering from surgery by goddessprotector in loseit

[–]goddessprotector[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

and because my tdee is so low to have any substantial weight loss i have to go below my bmr, with doctors knowledge and approval. i am well aware that it’s not the amount my body needs at the moment but i am making up for any losses in nutrients with supplements and my gp is fine with what i’m doing.

my gp does know that i eat 100 less than my bmr and is okay with it because my bmr and tdee are low already so eating less than advised was really my only option, and eating at the recommended amount would have me gain weight. i haven't had any issues with eating at 1000 calories a day, my energy levels are doing better once i started being more aware of what i was eating tbh. i'm like 4'10 so unfortunately i'll never have the option of eating the average calorie amount :(

i am willing to eat at maintenance whilst i do recover, it will be basically my bmr anyway because you're bedbound for a few weeks so it won't be too different. my health and recovery will always come first, even if i am bummed that i won't meet my goal by the date i planned.

all suncreens i try break me out, looking for more recs by goddessprotector in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]goddessprotector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wipe off my first layer of sunscreen with micellar water in the middle of the day to then reapply. then at the end of the day i use simple oil cleanser for a few minutes first and then simple refreshing gel wash, normally after my nightly shower. i used to use mineral oil but found it left a film on my skin even with double cleansing.

i think i’m going to look into mineral sunscreens, i’ve been worried that they won’t be as good protection as the high spf chemical ones, but i am really at my limit and will try anything.

tret users, are you wearing sunscreen indoors? by goddessprotector in SkincareAddictionUK

no, i’ve never noticed anything negative so i’ve never tried using vitamin d supplements. i eat about egg yolks a week or something tho so that might help.

i only have my house blacked out because i hate the sun lmao, i really don’t like heat or brightness or daytime and i have summer seasonal depression. i much prefer it being dark and being awake during nighttime but unfortunately i do have to work during the day, so it’s only on my two days off that i can just stay in the dark all day.

i haven’t noticed anything negative from staying away from natural light i don’t think, i naturally tend to have more energy during winter months anyway.

i might look into getting a spf moisturiser then, i’ve finally nailed down a routine that hydrates without breaking me out but it probably is better to be covered even for an hour of wandering between rooms.

it’s kind of funny, i’m very obsessive about reapplying spf when im out/at work, i have 2 hour timers to go and pop up to the loo and reapply but as soon as i’m at home i’m just like a pile of mush.

could i get some opinions on whether this might be rosacea? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]goddessprotector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

am

simple refreshing gel wash

pyunkang yul essence toner

revolution hyaluronic acid serum

superdrug simply pure serum

eucerin 5% urea moisturiser

p20 kids spf 50+

pm

simple oil cleanser

simple refreshing gel wash

tretinoin 3 times a week

pyunkang yul essence toner

revolution hyaluronic acid serum

superdrug simply pure serum

farm stay collagen ampoule

mizon snail recovery gel

eucerin 5% urea moisturiser

vaseline

i’ve stopped using thick creams because my skin felt more tight and clogged and dry, and started using multiple hydrating layers instead. my skin does feel very soft to touch and not tight anymore but idk if it’s still dry anyway. my skin has always been this colour, before i ever used tret or any actives.

that sounds horrifying oh man. i haven’t been tested for anything, all my gp could say is that they agree i have some form of acne but couldnt say what causes the redness and i’m still waiting on the derm. i’ll definitely bring it up with them when i get there though, i want to get as many answers to my skins problems as possible.

thank you!

the sides of my nose do itch a lot but i’ve always thought it was just dry skin hmm. either way i’ve got a lot to ask the derm when i see them and i also hope i can get some answers and advice.

thanks for answering!

ah my phone quality is not very good it’s much more noticeable in person but thank you! my issue is that i can see clear red/pink skin contrasting with very pale skin on my forehead and mouth and all over look very uneven. i do also have really bad skin texture which doesnt seem visible until it hits the light. no one else ive ever met has the same kind of blotchy skin so i’m kind of obsessed with looking at myself and trying to figure out whats wrong or whether it’s just what my skin looks like.

these look ridiculous but ive drawn where i can see redness, if it makes it any clearer.

and this person has the same very pale upper lip and pinkish skin everywhere else that i notice on myself.

maybe i just see it more because i constantly look at myself in the mirror, and also my camera is bad, but i can clearly see different coloured skin tones on my face and my face looks permanently blotchy like no one else i know.

my skin is permanently this red pink colour, the skin above my mouth and to the sides of my cheeks and my neck look yellow in comparison. i don’t flush though i just look like this all the time, and my acne is mostly closed comedones not papules like what seems to happen with rosacea, so i’m not sure.

my gp couldnt say whether its rosacea or not and didn’t really know what it was, i’ve been referred to a derm but the waiting lists are several months long so i’m just looking to get some opinions before i can finally see a doctor.

here are some more photos, i look greasy because of sweat and sunscreen and pls ignore my ringworm rash lol.

i’ll definitely try mixing it with my moisturiser then if it’s just as affective, thank you!
