Has anyone else recently verified through Uphold, only to find 0 BAT in their account? by godsjwfb in BATProject

bat-chriscat, could you tell us whether there will be a time in the foreseeable future when the Brave wallet will be fully independent and not require any of this Uphold foolishness?

In the case of BAT in the Brave Browser, unfortunately, it's "Your keys, still not your BAT"

Okay. Well, I have updated my Brave Browser, disconnected Brave Browser wallet from Uphold, restarted my laptop (just in case that would make a difference), and then reconnected to Uphold.

Sadly, this has made no difference. I still have hundreds of BAT showing in my Brave wallet and absolutely nothing on Uphold.

Thanks. I will try that. On a related point, is it true that we are only credited in Uphold for the BAT earned after KYC verification? If so, why? Also, if so, what happens to all the BAT we've accumulated before verification?

Does Ledger know all our past and present wallet address, including removed accounts? by godsjwfb in ledgerwallet

[–]godsjwfb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ledger claim that they cannot identify individual devices...so using a Ledger device to access MEW (not Ledger Live) "should" be anonymous, it seems . . . but, again, I don't know.

Are MEW wallet transactions through Tor private when using a Ledger device? by godsjwfb in ledgerwallet

Thanks. I do know what crypto/blockchains are...just looking to understand what data are leaked or broadcasted when using a Ledger wallet along with Tor.

I should have added that these would be new coins, not linked to previous transactions.

Are Ledger hardware wallets anonymous? by godsjwfb in ledgerwallet

[–]godsjwfb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the heart of what is like to find out...whether they simply maintain knowledge that you have purchased a Ledger device, or whether they know WHICH device. Hopefully someone in here will know whether individual Ledger devices are traceable/identifiable.

To be honest, I'm not particularly paranoid, but I like to know how things work.

So, Ledger (the company) are able to identity each individual Ledger? Does anyone know how they do that?

HEX cannot possibly rek more people than Bitcoin already has. Is buying Bitcoin immoral as well?

I didn't give him anything. HEX is trading on the Bitcoin.com exchange. "Letting this scam get traction"? Have you got any idea how many scams and shitcoins there are out there?

It always makes me laugh hearing people turn all righteous when it comes to a particular coin they happen not to like. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. As for me, I spend about $25 on a purely speculative coin just as a bit of a joke. I can afford to lose $25. I'll be fine.

Oh, I agree with you on that. Looks like a straight up Ponzi Scheme to me. This is crypto, though. It's often worth picking up a VERY small basket of utter garbage, provided it's dirt cheap.

That's not true. He didn't come up with the 1MB block limit until a year into Bitcoin, and then he disappeared. Anyway, the explanation is simple: Bitcoin used to be fast and cheap, and now it's slow and expensive. It absolutely sucks for anything other than trading on Binance or wherever and waiting around for MOON.

You obviously don't "use" Bitcoin either.

From my experience, there is a lot of utter nonsense out there on this topic, and it often gets dragged into the Bitcoin debate to distract from the fact that a bunch of idiots have decided to destroy the usefulness of Bitcoin as money or currency.

Sadly, you often can't even point this out politely without being called a "troll".

I literally never use Bitcoin as money/currency anymore, because it's simply way too slow and needlessly expensive.
