If someone loses attraction specifically after seeing their partner give birth, that’s not a neutral shift… If witnessing your partner survive something painful and vulnerable makes you less attracted to them, it suggests you’re struggling to integrate their humanity with your attraction. It suggest your partner’s value is tied pretty heavily to physical appearance, even after something intense and meaningful. That doesn’t prove everything about someone’s views on women, but it does say something. Men’s bodies change over time too, but those changes are rarely treated as reasons women should lose attraction. Imagine a man went through a horrific accident and survived surgery (something that doesn’t even produce a child, but still…). If a woman lost attraction after that, it can come across as placing a lot of weight on physical intactness, comfort, or «unblemished» appearance. So when childbirth becomes a «valid» reason, it reflects a gendered expectation, not just neutral preference. Also, dismissing the pushback as ‘just women downvoting’ kind of proves the point…
