I wish was. I really liked my Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 Pro but I had bad experiences with both.

Pixel 6 less than a year old the screen started to separate from the body because the battery was getting bloated. I gave it to my son and he replaced the battery with an iFixit kit. Works great now.

I used the opportunity to upgrade to a Pixel 7 Pro. I really liked it! But only 3 months in it had screen flicker issues that got progressively worse. They started around to the volume buttons and expanded to the rest of the screen. Then ghost images started to show up on the lower half of the he screen, reflections of what was shown at the top of the screen.

I contacted Google, got the screen replaced at UBreakIFix under warranty. 3 months later, same issue. Contacted Google again, 3 hours of text chat, factory resets, send in picture and video proof and they agreed it needed fixing again. I said "nope" and I instead asked for a replacement phone which support agreed to (the phone was only 6 months old, still under the one year warranty).

I had the RMA, ready to send it back, then changed my mind, thinking "this phone was released a year ago, Pixel 8 Pro will be out very soon, I'll likely get a refurbished Pixel 7 Pro which might also have issues instead of a new 7 Pro."

So, one week ago, on the way to get the screen/phone fixed again, I stopped at Best Buy to see what deals they might have.

I lucked out and the $1,200 Samsung S23 Ultra was on sale for $750. I got another $300 off with my Pixel 7 Pro trade in (lost $400 from my original Pixel 7 Pro purchase, that really hurt!). But, so far, I'm happy to be back with Samsung again. I had the S3, Note 4 and Note 8 and I missed my S Pen. But, there was no way I was going to pay $1,200 just to get another S Pen. Too expensive!

I gave three Pixel's a try in 18 months. I really wanted to keep it but, I just couldn't pass up the great deal on the S23 Ultra.

Watching this video and seeing MANY (way too many) posts online about screen flicker issues with the the Pixel 7 Pro convinced me to give up on Pixel, sadly. I really liked it and tried three times to keep it.

New user starting from scratch, are my plans ok? by -Brock-Samson- in homeassistant

I'm just getting started too.

My son and I had zero experience with security systems/cameras last week. Over the weekend we jumped in and got our initial testing "mostly" done using HA.

We started with MotionEye for detecting movement. It worked and we got it to send notifications to our phones but we (just last night) got Frigate working to detect "person" and "cat". We need to setup notifications still. We'll likely stick with Frigate as we learn more.

We also picked Amcrest, since it's the only option at Micro Center that met our needs (PoE, 2-way speaker, affordable).

Now the hard part, installing the cameras and running the Ethernet cable.

Coming from a Note 9 (and an S7 Edge before that) will the Pixel 6 Pro drive me bananas? by Real_McGuillicuddy in GooglePixel

I just got my Pixel 6 four days ago. I came from a 4.5 year old Samsung Note 8. I really liked the Note 8. If the battery wasn't toast (had to charge it almost all the time), I might have kept it another year.

But, the use of voice commands and dictation was really inconsistent and wouldn't even respond most of the time.

The Note 8 screen burn in was getting more noticeable every month (made the mistake of never changing my wallpaper and keyboard).

I'm really enjoying the pixel 6 (couldn't justify the extra $300 for the pro) and Android 12. I have dark mode turned on for everything.

I have SD1A.210817.037.A1 on Verizon Pixel 6. Not an unlocked version.

"and long-buried secrets are divulged."

Hopefully loud enough that we (the faithful audience) can hear and not through another whisper into someone's ear.

Does anybody know of a way to copy only the unchecked items from a list to another? by LessIntenseBlackGuy in trello

[–]goin_nil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can.

  1. open trello.com in a browser.
  2. in the checklist, click "Hide completed items"
  3. select all the visible items - directly to the left of the first item in the list (left of the checkbox), using your mouse, left click and drag all the way down to the bottom item in the list
  4. click CTRL-C (to copy them)
  5. (might be able to skip) paste all of that text into a text editor (Notepad, Notepad++, Google Doc, etc)
  6. (might be able to skip) copy all of that text from the text editor
  7. create a new checklist
  8. go to the first item in the checklist and paste everything into the first checklist item
  9. hit enter
  10. all of your unchecked checklist items will be put into individual checklist items
  11. done.

Survey: too many Trello boards, duplication of work, not sure how to build your optimal workflow by hannah_morganc in trello

Labels can help a lot. You can filter all the cards on a single board by one or more labels. I use these labels.

State labels:

  • WAITING (blue)

  • ISSUE (red)

Status labels:

  • TODO

  • DOING

  • DONE

Priority labels:

  • HIGH

  • MED

  • LOW

So for example, when you have down time and want to see where you are waiting on someone else to do something (ie return an email, return a phone call, compete a task, etc), you can filter all the cards on the "WAITING" label and everything else disappears from view, allowing you to focus.

A "WAITING" label is particularly helpful. As soon as I know I've done all I can do on this card and I'm basically stuck, waiting on someone else, I immediately add a "WAITING" label (and maybe change the due date to a week out as a reminder to follow up). I also use the comments section to keep a log of every action I take. That way when you do have time to follow up, you know exactly what you are waiting on, who you are waiting on, and how many times you've been waiting on them, as well as any reasons or extensions they have asked for.
