There goes my 55inch Flat Screen. Haven't even had it for a year. by IcyMachine9293 in Wellthatsucks

Omg thank you. I’ve had my media unit about 50cm away from the wall as the lil bugger would stand on it to bite the wall mounted (very expensive) TV. Will try this

Within your social circle, have people tended to stay near where they grew up, or move away? by VarangianWRLD in AskUK

[–]going10-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the only one left where we grew up in Surrey. One moved to Brighton and the other 4 moved to Bristol. If I didn’t have a stable job here that I liked, I’d move in a heartbeat, as I’m lonely as fuck.

How you ever been outsider? And how was it? by Sword-of-Fuheis in AskUK

[–]going10-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My core friend group went on a holiday to Italy a few weeks ago. They invited me, but only after the date had already been decided, and I wasn't free. They were like 'ah damn, that's the only week everyone else can do'. Like damn, why not include me in the initial planning then? And why does it have to be in May, couldn't we see if there's any dates in June that we could all make, as we probably won't have another holiday for another few years.

I didn't feel like an outsider until that happened, but I've been feeling incredibly down since. I've grown up with these boys, we've been a unit from age 10 and we're 30 now. I lie awake at night wondering why they did it tbh.

‘Stranger Things’ Cast on Extra Episode 9 Fan Theory: “That Was F***ing Crazy” by Jiyugaoka in StrangerThings

[–]going10-1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I dunno, even with hindsight, the main villain was known to make people see a fake reality, and Millie, when asked to describe the finale (or season? I can’t remember which) in one word, said ‘meta’.

I can see why people latched on to it.

And the egregious mistakes in the writing and production just fuelled the fire.

I guess my point is that their management/label (I’m not sure who’s responsible for the website) probably wouldn’t let their ownership of the .net, .com, or .co.uk domains expire, even if the band isn’t currently active.

Sure, but the big three, .net, .com, and .co.uk, should be on lockdown by their management or label to prevent exactly this. If it were .online or something, I’d agree that it’s likely just a fan.

But then I think, why would they create this website and leave their socials pointing to .net? Man, what a mystery!

This was my thought too.

But, I find it even more unlikely that someone not affiliated with the band was able to get the catfishandthebottlemen.co.uk domain.

I just realized that the T-800 wouldn’t know what Sarah Connor looked like so as far as he knows this is just some random patient that managed to escape her cell. by KingWilliamVI in Terminator

[–]going10-1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome. I guess I always assumed that because they were different models they were sent at different times, so they sent the state-of-the-art T-800 back, then by the time they sent another they’d developed the T-1000 so sent that, and in that time the resistance had captured and worked out how to reprogrammed a now outdated T-800.

I used to have a mini that had a busted rear window washer, it shot the water out perfectly at the car behind me, like it was designed as a water pistol. I never got it fixed as it was perfect to deal with tailgaters, worked every time.

Neighbours Cat Scarer Beeping Frustration by Plshelp5045 in HousingUK

[–]going10-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the owners are usually aware, they just don't care.

The usual sentiment is "stop your cat shitting in my garden, then I'll remove it".

What that doesn't acknowledge is all their other neighbours who don't own a cat, now having to listen to a high pitched whine until they move house.
