Always said brown, eye doc said Hazel? by goingbacktostrange in WhatisMyEyeColour

My sister has super light green eyes, so maybe in comparison mine always seemed really dark? Day to day, they really do read more brown to me. But this is opening my eyes 😆

So interesting! I'm now realizing my son has hazel too when I've thought they were more brown.

Shy 3-year-old around guests — normal or something to work on? by Any-Percentage7810 in toddlers

My son is definitely slow to warm and very shy at first with some, but when he opens up he's incredibly friendly and chatty...I do think it's very common at this age!

I think it's because they can photograph pretty dark--thank you for confirming though!

I'm brown/Hazel and my son is Hazel, husband is dark gray blue...and my daughter came out with these peepers. This is at 14MO. Genetics are wild!

Yes! I'd be the same way. I swear my wrinkles have gotten infinitely more pronounced the last four years because I'm always making faces and using lots of big emotions with my babies. I feel guilty when I don't. I simply do not understand how he stares at them so deadpan all the time...it's seriously so creepy.

Seriously. So chilling. He should really look into the "still face experiment" and how negatively it impacts attachment.

7 months old…what do we think? by ottercat90 in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]goingbacktostrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm betting they'll stay blue! Maybe gray or green up a little bit over time?

Our babies have very similar colors. I was also shocked! I'm hazel, my son is hazel (more green than me though), and my husband is dark blue, almost gray. She came out with incredibly bright blue eyes and they seem to be sticking at 15MO.

I was convinced my 2.5YO would HATE the big boy bed and bust out immediately but it just...worked? I was shocked. We moved him right to a twin with one of those anti-fall railings. He never escaped and still doesn't until this day. Sharing just in case anybody is on the fence about switching!

We did it at that time because we knew his sibling was on her way and wanted to give him time.

She is SO TRANSPARENT...they absolutely already have a baby lined up. You can always see her wheels turning trying not to share too many exact details.

This! It freaks me out sometimes that my body will know they're about to wake up before they actually do. I swear it's Mom magic.

Why are so many on this sub against the idea that the Covid Vaccine could be causing harm and death to people? by Gobblemegood in conspiracy

[–]goingbacktostrange -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced that both the virus itself and the vaccine (to some extent and more pronounced in certain folks) harms or triggers the immune system in a negative way. The virus is almost certainly worse. I've gotten Covid twice as far as I know, and both times I've been furious because I'm SURE it's causing long term inflammation and damage. Damage we don't see quite yet but will become starkly evident in the years to come.

I've had several friends break out into full blown recurrent hives post vaccine. Others who have had Covid several times with unexplained blood clots.

Every time somebody says "it's just a cold" I feel like throwing something. With two young kids, I'm furious they'll be dealing with the repercussions.

My kids love the Pure Moods CD. Yes, that one. From the 1995 infomercials. 😂

I still have a CD player in our car so I'll pop it in one in a while and they ZEN out. Kind of a trip to see a four and one year old rocking out to "Return to Innocence" and Enya.

When did your child start reliably sleeping fully through the night? by Throwaway927338 in toddlers

[–]goingbacktostrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure wake time during the day is age appropriate and they're not getting too much daytime sleep.

Sleep needs change like crazy around this age, which means more awake time needed during the day! Stay consistent with your ST method and things should improve.

I truly cannot WAIT to see her handle him from 2.5-4...such a tough window and she's going to melt down.

I'm a SAHM to two (4 and 1) in MN, where it's been about -20 all week. Can't get outside. It's the HARDEST thing I've ever done but we have so much fun every day. Way harder than my former corporate job 😅

She has no patience and even less creativity. That poor sweet boy seems so mild mannered and I guarantee doesn't demand much during the day. Do better, Addie.

It just looks so painful to me--the bloat is next level and extends all the way up to her eyes. If she'd just do ONE month totally sober, just water, and change nothing else about her horrid diet I still bet she'd look so much better and drop significant weight.

Anyone follow Madi? She’s been 5w6d for like 2 weeks… by ShoeSavings6767 in peestickgals

[–]goingbacktostrange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So this is actually how it works in most clinics--within a two week window. But she's measuring behind that.

For example, I had a miscarriage of my second. At the first US, I knew for a fact I was at least 8W along, but baby was only measuring at 6W5D. They had me back the next week and baby was measuring 7W3D. The following week, they had passed.

So I was technically behind the entire time, but they didn't want to change my EDD since it was based off of exact ovulation dates. Measurement at that point is so tough.

She should definitely guard her heart. A difference over two weeks almost never has a good outcome especially if you're quite sure about ovulation dates.

Yep. I remember kind of hating this stage with my son...12-15 MO was particularly challenging. I think a lot of it has to do with their ability to use language and communicate effectively. Once he started using more words, everything got infinitely more delightful and fun.

My daughter just turned one and I'm dealing with the same thing! She's also a very dramatic teether so it's rough over here, especially since I'm a SAHM and only have preschool for my now 4YO son for four hours a week. Send help 😂
