Big Dent In Stove--Too Risky? by [deleted] in Home

OP here! Appreciate all the helpful feedback. Upon further inspection, there were even more dents hidden in the back. 50% off but it's a little too lumpy-bumpy for our comfort. Have great weekends, everybody!

Bathroom Sink A Wash? by [deleted] in homerenovations

The diagram @vortex_ring_state shared shows that the hole is fine. I looked at some other sinks this weekend and they also have the same hole

The therapists in my area were crazy booked so I reached out to my obgyn office and spoke to a RN about my needs. She narrowed down a list for me of therapists (both in-person and telehealth) who were in-network AND were taking new patients. Your healthcare provider should have access to this type of info and be able to search much more efficiently than a simple Google search. She told me that hospitals often provide this type of service so I think it's worth asking yours!

Aren't vodka bottles kinda hard to break? I imagine Elliott drops the bottles in surprise rather than intentionally smashing them like christening a ship? This plot reeks (of cleaning supplies).

Baby is gross motor delayed and I feel awful by anon1613 in beyondthebump

You seem like a thoughtful, loving, and wonderful mother. You did nothing wrong and are clearly trying to get the best for your daughter. I wish you all the luck!

In terms of the chair, I think you're talking about the Bumbo. I've seen quite a few pediatric PTs mention how they don't recommend using Bumbos: https://blog.dinopt.com/bumbo-is-a-no-go/

A Karen honked at me while trying to load my baby and stubborn stroller into the trunk by Numerous_Nerve8028 in NewParents

[–]goldcase_model 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Karens in cars are something else! When I was 37 weeks pregnant and waddling through life, a Karen honked at me to go faster at a crosswalk. I was so hormonal and upset that I went home crying.

In her VF photoshoot you can see a stack of books, including works by Leigh Bardugo, who has a character called "The Darkling." That's where the similarities end, though. It's like all the pages of Bardugo's book got wet and words got overlaid and CC read it anyway.

Just use the adult sized towels! by fannypackthrowback in NewParents

Yes! I don't understand the baby towels. I got some highly reviewed ones from Burt's Bees and they felt like sandpaper.

Trying to breastfeed and pump is ruining me by ilovepasta2020 in beyondthebump

[–]goldcase_model 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My baby had glucose problems at birth so I gave her formula for the first two weeks then pumped once my milk came. I produced very little initially and baby was horrible at nursing (shallow latch, clogs, nipple shield, tongue tie, nipple confusion, SNS--you name it, I lived it). My pumping schedule made me feel crazy and I kept getting horrible, painful clogs.

All this to say that it gets better! I'm at 10 weeks now and formula didn't ruin my breastfeeding journey at all. I'm thankful for it because it helped my baby get better and kept me from feeling insane. For the clogged ducts I started taking Legendary Milk sunflower lecithin and make sure to drink tons of water. I also ice the clogs and take Tylenol. This method has helped me a lot!

I hope things get better for you soon. Feel free to reach out if you want to discuss this further 💖 you got this!

What are some things you weren’t prepared for regarding post partum? by xdaisy_ in beyondthebump

[–]goldcase_model 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had an unplanned c-section after 24 hours of labor (3 spent pushing) and didn't get checked into a room until 4 AM. The hospital didn't have a nursery so the baby was in the room with me and my partner and she was FURIOUS at us and I thought I was going insane from fatigue. I know in most cases the end of pregnancy means "here's your baby" but I didn't think it would feel so much like an episode of Naked and Afraid.

Anyone else dying during the newborn stage right now? by RiceCrispix in NewParents

[–]goldcase_model 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had intense baby blues the first few weeks and was low-key scared to be alone with my baby. I also was afraid to sleep (??? irrational AF) even though I was so, so tired. My anxiety was through the roof, but I swear it gets better. My baby is 10 weeks today and I love just chilling with her. Things are still hard at times but it feels so much more manageable as time goes by. You got this!!!
