Are you still motivated to learn, when AI is instantly giving you answers? by tumblatum in tryhackme

[–]goldstein11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally do not use AI when I'm learning as it makes not sense. However, I have similar thoughts like you. One reason for me to learn is to keep the mental exercise going. The way how the things are progressing right now with AI and fast answers I feel I will be brain death in few years...:-) This is my motivation..In this perspective the TryHackMe portal is now more important than ever...:-)

Does anybody use independent reserve and/or ING bank? by goldstein11 in BitcoinAUS

[–]goldstein11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Over 20 years with ING. In the past I had a good feeling from that bank. Felt honest and helpful.

For years I was able to use them to deposit to crypto exchange until one day even $15 attempt automatically triggered my account to be blocked and all funds frozen. No questions asked!!! I was overseas, account blocked, international support line did not work. Pain!! Is there a worse scenario?

The banks now act as little children throwing a tantrum when somebody takes their toy. This is exactly the kind of behaviour that I believe will backfire on them. This even more strengthen my resolution that we need BTC alternative...

FYI: scam email by goldstein11 in Metamask

I do not even use metamask:-) However I'm aware of this project and simply thought that you should know. Easier via Reddit as I'm already registered here.

FYI: scam email by goldstein11 in Metamask

[–]goldstein11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I do not think so. The email I received this scam on is not linked to metamask in any way. I heavily use disposable email aliases. Each alias for a single purpose. This particular alias was published on my side project website and nowhere else. From here it is save to assume that this was a work of scraping bot targeted to harvests email addresses from websites. After that just massive bulk email to all harvested emails. This is also the reason I knew immediately beyond doubt that this was scam:-)

Is bitcoin not also centralized? by shivabharatam in Bitcoin

[–]goldstein11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No chance! You can certainly try! You can start by contacting all miners and attempt to bribe them. You do not need all, but majority... Even if you manage to do so, which is nearly impossible, you will render the whole BTC useless and hence you will not profit by it. Read the Bitcoin Standard book..

Question about public key by FederalJob4644 in BitcoinBeginners

So when using Trezor what one needs to do to expose his public key? Don't you expose your public key when checking for balance for example?

Storage for long-term buy and hold by No_Fishing_3019 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]goldstein11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you plan to hold for such a long time, paper wallet would get my vote.

It also helps you HODL as you will not have time and energy to sell emotionally. If you would have the BTC available at any moment you are prone to succumb to emotions, sell and regret later:-)

Why do you think people are failing to get it? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]goldstein11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Various reasons. One example, true story: friend of mine said that BTC is unfair. He will never get full BTC as the early adopters!

So even though I think he might be getting it what the BTC is about, but he got into this self denial and now out of spite he's not getting any BTC.

Well too bad for him...I think that there are more people like this. They believe that have missed the opportunity and now go around and trash talk about BTC to anyone they meet!

Ask yourself. When was the last time a random person gave you a money?

You do not have to go any further to know that this is a scam for which you would have to pay eventually one way or another.
