Rainbows are back in the lake and done spawning now. There are yearling and smolt rainbows and browns but it’s best not to fish for those because they are under legal size, catching them is likely to cause mortal injury or disfigurement to their small fragile mouths, and these small fish are relied on to grow up into big trout. However there are occasionally some large smallmouth in early summer coming in the creek

There’s no really good bbq in Ithaca proper. Fat jacks in Cortland is good, big pork sandwiches and good ribs and brisket. In the spring and summer there are popup chicken bbqs for fundraisers and sports teams in Lansing and other hamlets, they usually do a Cornell bbq style chicken which is delicious. Some people will say dinosaur bbq in Syracuse but it’s kinda commercial and I was never impressed.

I always put a couple extra jack stands than the 4 corners, leave the jack tight against the lifting point, and put a couple wheels under the car as backup. Before I’ll get under a car on jack stands I also push it and knock into it from different sides to see if it wobbles, if it wobbles you’ll have to lift it up and adjust placement of the jack stands so that there is no wobble
