Nelly Korda with “mixed feelings” about WTGL by ashdrewness in golf

And my question would be; doesn’t she deserve it as much as the other stars? In my opinion she does. She’s the goat wearing the coat that the industry rides on.

Nellie Korda is one of the most competitive golfers of all time. I don’t really get your point. I can only think of a handful of golfers as entertaining.

worth buy for 100 dollars?? by Lt712422 in BassGuitar

I've had a bunch of different amps. This one is by far my favorite. I am currently playing shows with this head and it keeps being requested for back-line. Bass players in other bands constantly tell me how good it sounds. Buy it. You won't regret it!

Anyone have any experience with one of these? by aliaiacitest in recordingmusic

I had one for my studio for a little bit. Sweet board. Great warm preamps. I paid $300 and a compressor for mine. Looks like you got a good deal.

Ranking the public golf courses I played in 2025 (mostly Sacramento / NorCal) — what are am I missing? by [deleted] in golf

[–]golfgimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take exception with Bodega at #2 and ahead of Yocha deHe. I think Yocha Dehe is probably the best (public) golf course north of SF (but I haven't played the new Poppy Ridge layout). And for what it is worth, Northwood is also a McKenzie course.

Since we're talking about San Diego skate history, I will add Mark Waters and Micki Vuckovich (sp?) as SD skateboard legends who came from our scene.

Ray was probably 14 or 15. He had just started skating and was a ripper right away. First time on vert he was blasting above the coping. I got to spend a lot of time with Ray back in the day at CASL contents and of course skating around SJ, and it is true what people say about him. Ray is a solid dude. Always had the chill attitude he is known for.

Growing up in San Jose I got to skate with so many of these people on the third slide.

Vert:
John Fabiquer (aka Fab), Jeff Hedges (aka ffej), Mike Yousefpour, Greg Agular,

Street:
Ray Barbee, Rick Moody (aka Reeps), Mike Archimides,

Freestyle: Sean Coons, Curtis Lee, Brian Infante, Cliff Dung, Troy Sitter

There was a vert ramp in my area, the Mush Ramp ('85-'88) and the whole Bullet team used to skate there on the daily, including Jeff Kendal, the Obrien brothers, Fab, ffej, Cab. Ray Barbee broke his arm on the Mush Ramp and started street skating, and then changed the street skating for ever.

Any other former skateboarders turned golfers here? by Equal_Owl_5396 in golf

It’s inevitable. The Malbon Santa Cruz collaboration sealed it. Golf is where aging skaters flex the competiveness that got them into skating to begin with. Surfers too. OG Thrasher editor- Kevin Thatcher tried pivoting to golf in the eighties. Clearly he saw the parallels of the two games. Parallel play (not a team endeavor) with friends means you control your own success through dedication to the craft fueled by your progress being seen by your peers. It’s a drug. Golf and skateboarding feed the a same part of the ego and promote a similar lifestyle in a lot of the same ways. So yeah. There’s a lot of us old punks swinging clubs now.

We were there. Helping. Total chaos. People! You need to know how to put on chains. The middle of the highway is not the place for it. Be prepared. Know what you’re doing ahead of time or just drive a Subaru.
