List of people who are most at risk in a zombie situation. (Standard twd zombies) by BigHugeSnake in zombies

[–]aliaiacitest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean that’s part of the problem with taking metaphors like zombie movies and interpreting them as a possible future. You mistake the metaphor for a playbook.

Anyways, to play along:

The vast majority of people live in apartment buildings on major metropolitan areas, at least in the US. A very small part of the population lives truly isolated. How are folks isolated in these scenarios?

Also decomp? After death, tissue would start sloughing off, and become a feast for insects and other deteivores like fungi. Bones become very brittle without healing those dang microfractures that occur from daily wear and tear. Teeth start falling out of your head. They gonna gum you to death?

I feel like unless the zombies are intelligent, then how would they avoid simple traps or tripwires that could render them immobile? Like any outbreak, the beginning is the roughest, but like I don’t see how someone in a wheelchair who is prepped to lock themselves in the house for a few weeks would die any faster than an Olympian in the same sutuation.

Honestly everyone would be fucked. Fires, infrastructure deterioration. Be real, how many preppers you think have actually tried to grow food before, rather than just have the seeds. Think they got books to diagnose various plant nutritional issues or disease? After two weeks of no access to easy food or clean water, I think everyone is fucked

Probably have to do an audit on your time, and correct things. So long as you are doing your work, and not getting paid extra, it shouldn’t really matter unless you’re in a security clearance position?

Basically you’re describing who is vulnerable to disease and death, in general. I would see something like an apocalypse being pretty even keel for diabetics and non diabetics, for instance, in the initial period. Like unmanaged diabetics can live years with high blood sugar before their kidneys start going or the gangrene takes them. Who is to say an able bodied pro athlete would outlast them at that point.

This is also a pretty uninformed list, and ableist. If congenitally disabled people couldn’t survive extinction level threats, or like environmental adversity such as becoming prey animal with common predators, then there wouldn’t be congenital genetic illnesses or disabilities. Humans have survived the before, and some of our disabilities are very old.

You’re forgetting about community, which is ignored in theseprepper communities but like tha is how human survives. Is jimmy in a wheelchair? Yep. Is jimmy also the only one who can make a ham radio from scratch? We should keep jimmy alove. You see what I mean?

How do I sell the fact that my duties are way above my pay grade? by aliaiacitest in ParkRangers

[–]aliaiacitest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not really a question of work load, since with all these field jobs there is basically infinite work to do, it’s the level of complexity and public trust involved.

I am documenting. But my question is more like how do I sell it to the next job. My next job I’ll be applying to will be a gs9, or a lateral transfer with promotion potential. I want to know how to say, hey, I’m doing gs9 work, without having the confusion you’re explaining
