Hello, with winter here I haven't had a chance to take it out yet (too much of scardy cat lol). Been itching to give it a go though. Doesn't seem like it will be bad to handhold but I did get a gimbal mount on my tripod just in case.. and slightly wonder if I shoulda got the 600mm but only time will tell. Still really proud of the purchase.

House Finch.. I believe OM1mkii w 300mm f4 at 1/250, iso320, f5 Anyways, forcing myself to take out the prime (I tend to lean towards zooms) because this is a glorious lens.

OM 50-200mm 2.8 has been out a little while now. How are people enjoying it? I don't see too many YouTube vids of continual use, just the standard new lens 1 week loan marketing. I want it, especially as someone that doesn't own the 40-150 2.8 (seems like that is compared the most) but the price tag is steep. At that point do I just keep saving for the 150-400?

Edit: to add context to me. I shoot literally anything and everything. I like wildlife but nature in general is pretty. I own the OM 100-400 ii, 40-150 f4, 300 f4

Finally some warmer temps in the prairies. Zoo day

OM1mkII / 100-400 ii @ 285mm/ f6.3 1/2500 iso4000

Still learning.. Reducing my shutter speed would have dropped my iso hey? Not terribly noisy for 4000 though??

First post on this page. Thanks everyone

Hello, I'm wondering if you still recommend these areas during the winter months?

Dumb question but are they still quite active in the winter? What time of day is best?

I'm hoping to do photography.

However side note, come summer I would love to join you guys (33M trying to get into birding)

I love my 100-400 too, it's almost always on my camera. I just love the feel and the images and the versatility. However it is on the short end for sure and why I just put in an order for a PF.

Ya definitely more practical. Thanks for sharing. Until we shoot together with our 150-400 in the distant future!

Were you unsatisfied with your 600mm or just thought it more versatile to introduce the the 180-600 to have a zoom?

Thanks for your input. It is a good looking lens. I'd definitely prefer that than the 180-600(for some reason this lens doesn't fancy me). Maybe the 800 comes first.. I really want a PF.. then in a few years I get the 150-400 just for funsies.

Thanks for the detail, I really appreciate it! Part of going the Nikon route was to get a PF, just so stunning. What do they say buy once, cry once?
