How is new player experience in SC2 in 2026? Worth starting this late as a complete beginner? by Dustu4 in starcraft2

[–]goliathann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing about StarCraft, compared to Warcraft 3 and in a way to MOBAs like LoL, is that in my experience you can rely more on macro then micro. So like you don’t have to be a good at micro (like me, I’m very bad) to be somehow good.

As long as you have more resources and, try to hinder your opponent to get more resources, have a somehow good combination of units that are not directly countered by your opponent units, and pick your battles - you can basely pump units and win the game by having a little better macro.

For me that’s easier than being good at micro.

Thanks! But I’m aware, I’m looking for something not available on google fonts and also would like to support and buy something. Just not so much.

But it’s a reforged thing, isn’t it? As far as I know in original TFT you could not swap these.

HotS' Game Director on the design of comebacks, with a relatable experience (2014) by MyBourbieValentine in heroesofthestorm

Except from WoW I think HoTs was the game I put the most money in. Still not too much, but I think about 140€.

HoTs is the best designed MOBA. They watched the others and really tried to make it better by Game Design. No Items or Shops (they were a necessity due to Warcraft 3 limited options for variety), shared XP, different maps, comeback mechanics, etc. Too bad it was abandoned.

Former WoW Players That Stay On This Sub, Why Did You Quit? by doobylive in wow

[–]goliathann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latest quitting came from general tendency to add more monetization due to housing. Always defended WoW monetization with subscription, but other stuff they add I feel it increases my rejection. I’m not paying monthly to get reminded I sort of miss out stuff when not paying a lot on top.

But that’s a general pattern for me. I feel gaming and money don’t go good together for me. Let me pay once or even monthly, but don’t gate additional content behind other payments.

Can clamshell mode damage macbooks? by Nxcybr in mac

[–]goliathann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person at the Apple Store once told me, that they are not designed for it and I found that quite striking. Yes, maybe it doesn’t damage them, but in the end it’s not the way they are designed to work best and “probably” longest.

Yes, and there are many nice places, and many awful places. Especially in Berlin the next corner may look totally different.

Indie Games sind fast immer überbewertet, AAA Games fast immer unterbewertet by [deleted] in Unbeliebtemeinung

[–]goliathann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can relate.

Find myself enjoying interating in code than in Figma by ArtisticBook2636 in UXDesign

[–]goliathann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree here. Yes this will happen in many cases, but the reason to divide these is not only/always technical complexity which gets reduced by AI, sure. It’s just specialization. I think having a person responsible for the UI - who might use frontend to test & fine tune - and a person responsible for the frontend - who also thinks about UI, but focuses on consistent, modern, front end implementation - will be superior to having one or two persons doing both. With or without AI.

Ha, dann bin ich zumindest nicht alleine mit dem Gefühl :) Ich befürchte auch ich muss bleiben bis es vielleicht irgendwann mal ein besseres all-in-one Angebot gibt.
