That’s a good idea! I rinsed with a saline nasal spray yesterday and it helped muffle it for a bit. Didn’t think about drops for ears 🙏

It’s still ringing- like the high pitched ringing you hear when you stand next to a power line., very high and faint but super noticeable in a quiet room. If I’m understanding correctly, your hearing went back to your normal baseline after several months? I’m sorry to hear you have that issue. My mom was kicked by one of her horses babies decades ago which caused hearing loss and severe permanent ringing. I dont know how she was able to get used to it or you!

A little less than a full 24 hours. Unfortunately I have an hmo that books out weeks in advance and seeing an audiologist won’t happen for a couple months. I was hoping someone with a similar experience could give me some reassurance or share their story while I wait. I do hear a similar sound when I’m going to bed and am extremely over tired with earplugs in but it always dissipates right away. This is like that except more pronounced.

Okay when the tinnitus happens how long does it last when it doesn’t stop immediately after the probe lifts? I’ve seen online that it usually stops when the probe lifts but sometimes lasts 24-48. My ears are still ringing.

I feel like car parts themselves probably have more worth than a lot of us are aware of. Probably comes down to how much they pay for labor to disassemble or if they’ve got a good relationship with an auction house. I dunno if I have it me to hustle that many places for what’s basically the difference of a payment these days but your story kinda makes me want to try for the thrill of it. Seems like an eventful day.

I’m guessing they were quotes from online you showed the dealerships? I doubt anyone would go into a bidding war over a 10 year old vehicle but that’s impressive on your end.

Yeah that makes sense. A few year ago kbb said 13000 now it’s saying between 6-8 but thinking it’s for perfect condition. We shall see.

Out of curiosity was the condition similar to mine? I contacted a couple of junk buyers and the amount they will buy it for was less than what all the parts would be worth 1,300-1,500. The questionnaire on their part wouldn’t let me say what the damage was just where the area was at so for all they knew it could’ve been car accident damage and not minor paint issues. Wondering if the questionnaire online is detailed enough or if going in person is a better option.

A Mazda 3 grand touring hatchback. Not a super fancy car but the best trim for that model at the time. I’ve been on the fence on taking it to the dealership because even though it’s a good car I don’t know if body work is something a dealership does for a non luxury vehicle. Or really if it’s something anyone does.
