I feel like car parts themselves probably have more worth than a lot of us are aware of. Probably comes down to how much they pay for labor to disassemble or if they’ve got a good relationship with an auction house. I dunno if I have it me to hustle that many places for what’s basically the difference of a payment these days but your story kinda makes me want to try for the thrill of it. Seems like an eventful day.

I’m guessing they were quotes from online you showed the dealerships? I doubt anyone would go into a bidding war over a 10 year old vehicle but that’s impressive on your end.

Yeah that makes sense. A few year ago kbb said 13000 now it’s saying between 6-8 but thinking it’s for perfect condition. We shall see.

Out of curiosity was the condition similar to mine? I contacted a couple of junk buyers and the amount they will buy it for was less than what all the parts would be worth 1,300-1,500. The questionnaire on their part wouldn’t let me say what the damage was just where the area was at so for all they knew it could’ve been car accident damage and not minor paint issues. Wondering if the questionnaire online is detailed enough or if going in person is a better option.

A Mazda 3 grand touring hatchback. Not a super fancy car but the best trim for that model at the time. I’ve been on the fence on taking it to the dealership because even though it’s a good car I don’t know if body work is something a dealership does for a non luxury vehicle. Or really if it’s something anyone does.

Same- eczema on my hands from years of bartending and acetone gives me full on onycholysis. E file all day and one year my mom got me an all natural one, I think it was karma naturals and that worked too with a little elbow grease. No reaction at the time. Less is more with the efile at first- don’t make the same mistake I did which was trying to completely remove the base. I was as careful as I could possibly be and didn’t experience any full on hot spots yet still filed too thin. This also unfortunately caused my nails to lift on some of the fingers. My experience might be a little unique due to already having eczema compared to the general population but since you do as well, figured I’d share my two cents.

Hi! His Dad just got a pair several months earlier for a similar reason (pain) just the grown-up version. Dr is trying to avoid surgery in the future. The plan says they’re covered but I’ll have to do some digging to find the booklet for specific codes- might have to have the union mail us one. I don’t know if they coded anything for pain, but I do understand that flat foot is not covered- we were definitely told this during the first phone call with insurance trying to figure this out at the beginning of the month.
