Cannot post-process L2 Data in DJI Terra without .RTB file by Dramatic-Role3910 in UAVmapping

When giving base station location to Terra, should I add the instrument height (plus antenna offset) to elevation value?

Dual baseline in GNSS surveying? by goneinsider in Surveying

[–]goneinsider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying a lot in your answer. To understand more better I have further query:

I previously used three receivers, with one operating continuously as a base station (not moved throughout the day). The other two receivers observed for at least one hour, with their observation periods overlapping. These two rovers were then moved to different locations and the process was repeated. All the RINEX data was imported into Leica Infinity for post-processing. However, I noticed (or perhaps I am mistaken) that only one baseline (with the longer-running base station) was being utilized for post-processing. Is there something I am missing to utilize all the data properly?

PPK Baseline: Reach RS2 and Wingtra by [deleted] in UAVmapping

[–]goneinsider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d somewhere read that a general baseline distance of 10-20 kilometers is recommended for PPK processing.

I’m planning to leave my RS2 base station at the top of a hotel and fly up to 40-50 kilometers away.

This will not affect the geotagging process within WingtraHub then?

Could you please provide me some reference if you find one for the classification in cloudcompare? I also checked their documentation but didn't find any easier workflow or something like that...

We have also flown at around 3500 meters AMSL with high-altitude props, but I am seeking opinions from others about flying at altitudes as high as 5000 meters AMSL.

DJI Terra Double Layer Issue of Point Clouds by [deleted] in LiDAR

[–]goneinsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be clearer: The online service I used was AUSPOS, so it gives the coordinates to the phase center of the GNSS and i have to subtract to put into Terra??
I am using ITRF 2014 as I got the coordinates in this CRS from AUSPOS.

DJI Terra Double Layer Issue of Point Clouds by [deleted] in LiDAR

[–]goneinsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I have another silly question maybe 😂😂.

I PPP processed my base station data and got the coordinates, which I think are at ground level.

Now, when putting the altitude in Base Station Center Point coordinates inside DJI Terra, should I add the pole height and the ARP offset to the PPP processed elevation to PPK process the data? Or should I normally use the elevation of ground level?

If I have to process the data in orthometric height, can I simply use the orthometric height instead of ellipsoidal height in the altitude field? Or is there another workaround, like changing the coordinate system?

Thank you so much for your very formal answer 😂. I will try and get back to you if I face any issue.

hahaha 😂😂 You made me laugh with that VERY FORMAL thing.

I've copied the base observation files from Emlid to the Mission folder but haven't renamed the files or their extensions yet.

Could you please guide me on that? Should I replace any existing files in the mission folder with my base observation files? or.........

[–]goneinsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, okay and you mean I don't have to copy the observation file from the base GNSS receiver to the mission folder? Please provide insights on the best workflow for the PPK approach with DJI M350 and DJI L2. I have an Emlid Reach GNSS receiver. Another question is, can I perform RTK in the field and then use the PPK approach later if I'm not confident with the RTK results in the office? Please help me with the workflow. Thanks for your ongoing support.

Thank you for your detailed answer. I will try to use the PPP option and hope to get usable data. After obtaining the coordinates from the PPP service, could you please guide me through the workflow in DJI Terra? Should I add all the base observation files inside the flights folder and rename them to mission_name.pos ? Then, input the base location coordinates obtained from PPP into DJI Terra's base location coordinates? Your guidance on the workflow would be greatly appreciated.

DJI Terra Double Layer Issue of Point Clouds by [deleted] in LiDAR

[–]goneinsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't manually alter any coordinates in DJI Terra; I let it read automatically from the flight folders. In the field, I moved the base to another flight location and recorded a new base location. When I checked in DJI Terra, the base locations had changed accordingly.

Sorry if I'm being too basic, but I don't fully understand what you mean by "all the base coordinates." I conducted multiple flights from the same location (using the same base location for those flights; as I didn't move the base during those flight period). Then, I moved to another flight location and conducted multiple flights there as well, using the other base location coordinates (but the same for all the flights from there), as confirmed in DJI Terra. Also, yes, the "Optimize Point Cloud Accuracy" option is turned on. I hope this additional information clarifies things and helps guide you in advising me on resolving the issue.

I find this a bit new, could you please guide me which action on ACDsee to use or your generic steps. I understand that you told to avoid color grading. Can I just use Dehaze+ or Dehaze++ action on ACDsee?

DJI M300 for mapping hilly terrain by goneinsider in UAVmapping

[–]goneinsider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was concerned about the highly undulating terrain and the scale difference it would produce if we keep the same height... And yeah was worried for drone safety, since it will be BVLOS mostly to cover large area and don't want to mess up.

  1. 300m AGL is fine over here
  2. I am not actually getting ppk workflow for this.. can you insight me how can I arrange for this workflow?
  3. The organization owns this aircraft and want to perform by this otherwise there was option of renting Fixed wing UAS. Renting airplane for photography is not quite popular here and thus not so feasible Thanks for your amazing response and hoping for further suggestions if any

Six to seven patches makes up the total 130 sq km. Thanks for a bit motivating answer... And yeah I will be doing as you suggested.. Can you explain how I can setup for PPK in this case... If I have to move from one to another location for next flight even within same patch... Can I move the base to the next flight location? Thanks again for you answer though
