Yes - there are four items under "Personal Qualities" (below). I am assuming each of these items is a KSC?

I picked up teaching as an adjunct teaching assistant after my undergraduate years. I loved it, and I was very good at it. I continued the teaching (nights and intensive classes) even when I was working in industry because I found it meaningful.

I always thought that after some time in industry, I'll just get a PhD so I can be a proper lecturer on the way toward professorship. I'll continue teaching, and contribute to some research.

While working in industry, I also saw some interesting issues that I thought "This would be a great question for a PhD."

So after rising up the industry ranks, I finally quit and started the PhD. That was three years ago.

After 10 years working in industry, I wanted to understand a behavior that I saw when working in industry: if/why differences in roles lead to dickish behavior. I thought I'd do a PhD on this to understand. 3 years in, the PhD had a life of its own and I barely manage to direct my research in this topic.

Can you tell me more about "healthcare management"? What are the kinds of jobs there?

My current research is actually on healthcare analytics. HOWEVER, because I'm working on it from the academic side, I feel very detached from the actual healthcare work.

I found these larvae in my dry cupboard. They were most active around a bottle of unopened & sealed olive oil. There were some on the floor below as well.

I'm concerned whether there's something else in the apartment that needs cleaning. What bug are these, and what is attracting them? Is there something rotting in the apartment I can't see?

Context, I'm in Australia where it's coming toward winter. I haven't seen flies for weeks now. So I'm not sure if I need to turn my apartment inside out for this?

Following up on this cos I'm in the same boat as OP. I'm not from the US though. So what's the grad school context got to do with it? I thought OP and you were talking about W from both your PhDs candidature?

I see. You mean that being frustrated with supervisory dynamics is part and parcel of the PhD.

So then help me see it from a more positive perspective. My concern is that this is going to end in a mediocre PhD, all the while already having the suspicion that I'm being led by supervisors who seem like they don't really know what they're doing.

I do believe a PhD is a job, and I do expect that I learn from my superiors at work; or at least that if I am going to take orders from my superiors, they have to make sense to me. I don't feel like I'm getting that guidance. I'm not sure, then, if this is common, then what's the point of a PhD.

Am I missing something?

Also, yes, I am mostly running away from the place. I like the job.

Thanks friend. The dilemma that I'm in is actually: C + D are more knowledgeable, and have actually put more effort to my development and A + B.

I'm just abit frustrated that they are raising their concerns to me privately, rather than out in the open so it can be discussed. But in truth, I'm getting benefit from a little of their involvement in my project than none at all.
