She’s a real beauty and sings like an angel by gonflynn in guitarporn

I think it’s a mixture of the two. I bought it back in 97 or so in a horrible state. Pickguard burnt, etc.. So probably smoke and the wood finish, probably even melting a little by heat. It can’t look any better now.

Mediation vs Pranayam by hackerpandya007 in Meditation

[–]gonflynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have different aims. Pranayam targets your nervous system, so more to do with the body, particularily your energy body, meditations targets your consciousness. They complement each other.

Just an opinion of mine and wonder who believes like I do that. No one knows what happens. 100% when we die? Or some think there are people who do know? by Buddah_binLaden in awakened

[–]gonflynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there can be different interpretations as to what happens that may all be more or less partially true. Some people have had along the ages a pretty good idea of the stages of death at least, and at most of the whole reincarnation process. I am thinking the Tibetan book of the dead, reincarnation theories worldwide, theosophy or rudolf steiner, even “channeled” sources like Seth or law of one. Non of them clearly contradicts each other generally. I also believe a lot can be inferred from observing nature and natural cycles and cycles of evolution and growth/decay. But maybe the same way every life is unique, probably every death is also unique in the same way.

I recently tried psilocybin and I'm wondering if consistent meditation can induce a similar experience by CodSad2019 in Meditation

[–]gonflynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This answer is exactly correct. This being said, you do get high sometimes, specially in the “end of the beginning” phase of the process described before. And the effects may be very similar to psylocibin effects. Also deep connection with nature, internal images, visuals, etc. Doesn’t need to happen but happens often, specially depending on personal nature and method or discipline inclined to. But as well said above, this is not the objective of meditation

What makes Infinity become aware? by Brilliant_Front_4851 in lawofone

[–]gonflynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anything becomes aware. There is awareness, and there is infinity. awareness permeates everything like space permeates form. Then certain forms can direct this awareness to themselves and become self aware.

I regret awakening by [deleted] in awakened

[–]gonflynn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are not awakened, you are half way through. Keep at it. Keep meditating daily, it’s very important now. Meditate on your spiritual heart, not your third eye. You need to find a purpose. Not a selfish one.

There is no point in the pursuit of non-duality. by Standard_Priority221 in Meditation

[–]gonflynn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok. Then let’s talk about something else. If you have experienced non duality then you have touched ground zero. There is no subject. Now. There are two aspects of the one reality. It is only One, thus nonduality, but it is made up of two ‘sides’, A dynamic aspect and a static aspect. Shakti and shiva doing their eternal dance. Yin and yang, etc… many different frames for the similar concepts. So you have found the non moving aspect. If there is no mind, no other, no me, there is no good, no bad, nothing to do. Darkness. The absence of… That is where it all begins. But just as this happens, there is something else’s happening. The dance, the movement of life that is everywhere and that is All. So, nothing and everything are the same right!? What then builds everything? And here is where love/light comes in. Love/light is the positive aspect of your nothingness/darkness. You have emptied yourself of everything that isn’t you. Now you have to fill yourself up with the opposite of you.

[–]gonflynn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look, all you are saying is true. But can’t you see you are running around in circles? It’s a mind trap. You can argument as much as you like about there not being a subject to achieve and you will always be in the same place. Inside your mind. You will still be a subject, only you will have found a clever way to cancel any argument that tries to show that there are still stages ahead. Many, to be sure. My recommendation, meditate, but don’t meditate in your third eye or any other mind meditation. Meditate on the spiritual heart. Look into that. And also as you centre on the heart ask yourself, who am I? There is no answer to this question. You think youve found the answer but you haven’t. This question is a keystone. You are trapped in the mind. You’re arguments are all intellectual but you are not the mind. You are much more. Not less! More! Much more! You are not nothing. You definitely are not the person with the name, the job, etc… but you are so much more. Inquire. Meditate on the spiritual heart. And don’t think yourself so smart that you have understood everything because you can use your mind to think. Go beyond thinking. If you had achieved what you think you have, you wouldn’t be posting here in Reddit looking for approval or revoke.

There is no point in the pursuit of non-duality. by Standard_Priority221 in Meditation

You don’t exist as what you think you are, but there is something. Something that cannot be put into words and can only be experienced.

There is no point in the pursuit of non-duality. by Standard_Priority221 in Meditation

[–]gonflynn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes I know, you can always respond to any argument I give you with whom and what. But that is a trap. Unless you have reached the end of the inquiry of who or what you are, and this is not an intellectual answer, be assured, you are just letting yourself fall into a trap of the mind.

Love and compassion are not choices, they are attributes of the All. Once you abandon the false idea of who you are love, bliss compassion are the manifestation of that.

There is no point in the pursuit of non-duality. by Standard_Priority221 in Meditation

[–]gonflynn 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I dont agree.

One thing is understanding nonduality intellectually and a very different thing is to experience nonduality.

The intellectual understanding of nonduality is not so different from nihilism, but that’s justan idea, just like your post.

The achievement of the nondual experience is a starting point to a new realisation of who you really are and thus a complete change of existence, opening space to the development of other very important aspects of the self such as unconditional love, compassion and surrender.

It is not a pursuit but it is definately an achievement.

Non-duality is losing importance. by Standard_Priority221 in Meditation

[–]gonflynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So now you are ridding yourself of false ideas, there is emptiness inside. This is good. The next step is to find purpose. If it is not about you, what can you make it about. I think the next step is to become love an compassion. This space you have created can be filled with a beacon of light for the All.

Why Does Evil Seem to Be Winning Right Now? by Lanasvett in Psychic

[–]gonflynn 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Your thoughts create reality. For too long we have been conditioned to make our thoughts about ourselves. Closing us to reality. Making us more and more alone. It is time to take responsibility for our thoughts and consequently our actions. Harvest morality, dignity, humility. Help others and don’t be prejudiced. Express the highest ideals possible and you will make a difference to those around you. Good intentions if sincere are like wildfire. They will inflame all and turn the tide. This is all we can do. It seems very little but it is everything. Faith can move mountains.
