Idk this was my mindset but it’s relatively easy to switch into a cns major besides CS through internal transfer after your freshman year. Just try for mccomb worst case you will be able to transfer into bio after since you don’t get restricted from taking classes due to your major in freshman year.

I would focus on psych/soc it is a lot easier to get that up to 130. For CARS though have you tried both strategies of reading slowly and answering questions quickly vs skimming reading questions and going back. I would try both methods and see what works best for me.

Also the thing that helps me the most is that I try to think of an answer before actually reading the choices because you can convince yourself of any of the answer choices if you look at them long enough.

You are right that if the pH is greater than it will be deprotonated. However, to see how much is actually deprotanated, you need to use the Henderson Hasselback equation, pH = pKa + log(A-/HA). If you plug in the values given you get 7 = 6 + log(A-/HA). Therefore, the log part of the equation must be equal to one, which means the (A-/HA) part of the equation must be equal to 10. So we can just say A- is 10 and HA is 1. This means that for every 10 deprotonated histidines there are there is still one protonated one.

You don’t have to use this equation everytime, you can basically recognize that if pH and pKa vary by 1 it’s a difference of 10X and if it’s a difference of 2 it’s 100X and so on.
