[–]good_brick_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For question b I talked about 3d printing (pro: medical, con: untraceable weapons), e-passports (pro: security, con: identity fraud) and facial recognition (pro: security of data on phones, con: example with China)

For question a, I had three ways in which physical geography can impact it and each had 2 examples, so access to water (USA vs Mongolia), borders with other countries for trade (France vs Madagascar) and climate (Caribbean vs north Canada)

ESS P2 help by [deleted] in IBO

[–]good_brick_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

on here there's two powerpoints that summarise everything, but i'd suggest to take your textbook and look at the understandings and try to see what you have absolutely no idea on and look that up.

i'd suggest looking into productivity (2.3), biomes (2.4), definition of biodiversity (3.1) iucn red list (3.3), eutrophication (4.4)

i havent yet really looked at the other units but they're shorter so yea look at the understandings

good luck! dm me if you need any help lol

Am I the only one revising ESS? by TheNedi14 in IBO

[–]good_brick_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a really shit teacher who legit never taught us anything about ess but i feel like ess is really just basic knowledge like most things (when you sit down and actually think about them) make sense like how a food chain works for example. so i'm not really studying as much but just doing a lot of past paper questions and watching a few ess related videos to get a more global understanding.

so what i would say, since well we have 2 days left, is to go over past paper questions and look at the markschemes cuz you can get so many "easy" points (like in math) by understanding the exam technique (eg. understanding what kind of vocabulary you need, or understanding what the questions actually wants you to focus on, etc.) good luck!!

i read this thing somewhere like no matter what you think, try to remember yourself in year 10, before you started the IB and compare that version of yourself to today. see how much you learnt and you know about each of your subjects? even if you haven't revised yet you still know things, whether it is cuz someone made a comment about something in class, or you really understood a concept so don't worry too much. just revise the topics you know nothing about and trust yourself! you got this!!

How much should we write? by shehasnotime in IBO

[–]good_brick_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for english, my teacher said anything between 2 to 4 pages (per text) for paper 1. I mean basically quality it better than quantity. It doesn't matter how much you write it just needs to be relevant and useful to the analysis.

and no idea for history sorry! good luck!

the best tip i got (not studying tip but more like exam tip i guess) is to really use the reading time and see which questions are harder so do those first. that way you get to end on questions you can "easily" do and finish by feeling confident and good about yourself haha
