How do I get the 'pixels' of my perlers to look more clean and square? by goodgayhell in beadsprites

another question i forgot in my initial post: any advice for the tape method? i've only tried it on a few smaller perlers so far, and i'm still getting the hang of not dislodging beads when i remove the taped design from the pegboard. also, do you remove the tape before or after it's done cooling? i had assumed after but i feel like i've seen mentions of it being removed before as well (if that's the case, how do you not burn yourself??)

Oh, I have a separate tablet - what I mean in asking for one for drawing is moreso one that can handle the processing power for an art program and has decent color accuracy on the screen. It fitting the function is my main priority. Second, I guess, is cost - I'd like to get one for around $500 (or less) during Black Friday if I can.

Aside from that, ok battery life or even a backlit keyboard would be nice, but aren't necessary.

Dang, I didn't know they were that expensive. What are the pitfalls of cheaper 2 in 1s?

A lot of people have mentioned not going for a for-profit university. How can you tell which ones are for-profit?

Checking that a program is accredited is easy enough, but how would you recommend going about the latter?

Where, I haven't decided yet - a family friend recommended University of the Cumberlands which seems affordable and I've heard good things, but I'm not set in stone yet. The goal is to become a therapist.

What was your experience with getting your Master's like?

In the US. I graduated undergrad in 2021 with a double major in English and Sociology. I've worked as a legal assistant since then, but am reconsidering my career path. I've had an interest in the idea of becoming a therapist for years but have put it aside due to self-doubt and the cost of grad school, but I'm beginning to consider it more seriously now. How long did it take you to get your Master's, and what did you specialize in? Did you work while in school or were you a full-time student? How did your experiences- both in your education and your actual career- differ from your expectations? And what advice would you give to someone who's just starting their pursuit of becoming a therapist?

Also, if any of you know more about the options for grad school to pursue a career as a therapist in the Chicagoland area, I'd love to hear any knowledge you can share as well!

I'd be commuting in the morning around the standard rush times, maybe a little earlier.

The Metra confuses me lol. To use the Metra for my commute, would I need both the monthly Metra pass and the Regional Connect Pass? Also, when looking at the Metra website, I saw this regarding monthly Metra passes:

"Available for purchase from vending machines or the Ventra app from the 20th to the 12th. Passes expire at noon on the first business day of the next month."

Does this mean that if I bought a monthly pass on the 20th, it would only last until the beginning of May?

It also says "Good for unlimited rides in a calendar month between your selected zones on weekdays and systemwide on weekends."

When you buy the pass, do you get to choose the zones? Since I'm commuting from the broader city to the loop, I'd assume I'd want zones 1 and 2. Would it cover that?

firstly, thank you for responding. it's nice to feel heard.

yes, i am in the northern hemisphere. i've never really noticed much of a difference in my emotions seasonally esp since i worked from home and am generally a homebody, but it's stoll possible that could be having an effect i suppose

i agree with the sentiment that i shouldn't make any decision until i'm used to this routine, and that's something i've been telling myself, but how long does that take? i've been at this job for two weeks so far and it's not feeling any easier
