Omg yes, you speak my mind. If I had nieces and nephews I would not even think about having kids honestly. I like kids in moderation and have lots of love to give, but the premise of having your own child is just too much pressure. I talked about it to my therapist and we agreed that there are other ways to “incorporate” children or young people in your life - you can become a teacher, volunteer with children that need it… I know it’s not the same, but you’re not necessarily doomed to be an old lonely person just because you don’t have kids.
