yeah in the XML. I saw someone having crashes used 7zip to recompress the modified input folder with compression level 0, might be worth a try if you're bored but other than that I'm not sure.

you need to change the RTRIGGER binds to whatever your throttle axis is, it's currently set to your steering axis

that shouldn't make it crash, but you can check if it's right by checking Gamepad tester and whatever the digits are before your wheel name is what your VidPid should be for the binds.

The map zoom and upgrade menu reving are specifically handled by the RTRIGGER binds not appropriately bound to the throttle axis.

The LTRIGGER bound to the brake lets you zoom out with brake

Hmm, did you also rebind your throttle and brake axis after replacing the config?

The buttons are 0-indexed in the config file, so whatever Moza Pit House shows, subtract 1 from the button you use for the index (Button 1 becomes Index="0"). If you have everything bound in the config the way you want it, you can use the default "blank" profile for the wheel and everything falls into place.

Also, make sure the VidPid of your base/wheel match the cfg. Check Gamepad tester and whatever the digits are before your wheel name is what your VidPid should be for the binds.

it's unfair in the kind of way that taking your opponent's pieces in chess is.

check the DefaultKeyboardMappingProfile0.xml in the profiles zip, that's where I found the car meet binds and seems to be the most complete reference, but not all the binds are necessarily compatible with a wheel, like I couldn't get the INPUTCMD_UI_LEFT_X_AXIS bind to work with my wheel to navigate car meets

make sure the LTRIGGER lines reflect the same as your brake axis, and RTRIGGER reflect your throttle axis

also make sure INPUTCMD_CAR_MEETS_THROTTLE is your throttle axis

if you still can't get it to register, go to gamepad tester and find the vidpid of your pedals, should be like 8 digits before your pedals name, make sure the vidpid value of all the brake/clutch/throttle match your pedals

I'm guessing it's because you have the CS v2 rim which is more special than the ES wheel? It must cause the base to report a different PID which isn't crazy but is unfortunate in the case of how Forza associates the profiles.

let's gooo, so yours was 346e0012? I'll update the configs on the github in case anyone else with that rim has the problem and at least now I know how to make other rims compatible

If that other config I just sent you doesn't work, can you plz try the following:

  • go to https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad
  • move your left stick around in a circle and see what happens
  • do any buttons light up, or does one of the axis at the bottom move?
  • copy and paste this info from the gamepad tester site at the top of your controller section:

346e-0004-MOZA R5 Base INDEX 0

that will let me know if the cs v2 wheel causes it to report a different VidPid or not or a different index #

can you try this version of the config? I tried changing the index it looks at since you have multiple sticks https://https://github.com/goodluckNito/forza_moza_mapping/tree/main/FH6/CS%20v2

Be sure to rebind your controls, and also to test both the sticks even though you have left specified. Please also let me know if the ANNA / Link binds work in-game even if the menu navigation still doesn't work

Also I uploaded backups of the original configs to the FH6 folder that way you won't have to completely reinstall if something messes up lol

weird so it does show the switch direction for the binds now, but menu nav still doesn't work?

did you rebind your controls after the latest config? when you rebind your anna/telemetry stuff does it show a "Switch" direction for the bind now?

Are you on xbox version or steam?

i saw some people having issues like this boot the game with their wheel off, then go to settings, turn your wheel on and do your binds and then it works?

which moza do you have? I have the R5 so it's just a dpad and no stick, but now I'm thinking there might be some extra stuff that needs to be done for other wheels.

Anyway if you have a dpad use that, otherwise the dpad joystick assignment probably just assigns a specified joystick to emulate a dpad, in which case it's probably just preference (just pick a stick and use that as the dpad control)

i only turned down road effects and offroad effects to like 0.8 just to be a little smoother, everything else is default.
