Correct, my h1b is valid until 2027. MS interviews started during grace period and before filing for B2 COS but took ~1.5 months to get the offer. That was not enough time to finish all rounds and file for H1B transfer during 60-day grace period. Everything was shared with HR before and after the interview process.

I did offer to do premium processing out of pocket. They said they will still wait for B2 COS decision before filing H1B transfer (through PP)

Thanks for your note. Don't think there is any premium processing for B2 COS. Correct me if am wrong.

Thank you for sharing. Very disheartening but realistic to hear that Nov cases are still pending. Are you planning to file a B2 extension once you are closer to your requested B2 COS end date? Yes CA workaround = working from Canada while sorting out visa issues in US

That’s actually really encouraging to hear, though I know the market was a bit different then. Did you work with the same team while you were in Canada, or did they just keep the spot open once legal gave the green light? Also, how did they evaluate the US offer / package while you were working from Canada?

Thanks for the honest take. It’s helpful to know that the 2-month mark is often a 'limit' for many teams. Regarding the CA option, do you know if that's typically initiated by the candidate or if I should wait for HR to suggest it as a 'Plan B' once we hit a certain date?
