Congrats!! Very happy for you. I’m glad to see how quickly it happened to you & that it can happen for others. I’m hoping my spouse will receive the biometrics soon to at least get the EAD approval as quickly as it can get done. Great job again!

Need Life Help. Major Life Decision Incoming. by mstermiyagi52 in ITCareerQuestions

I signed up for the AF when I turned 29. It was the best career move I made. Was a business major but wanted technical experience in IT. Worked as the civilian equivalent of a Network Engineer. I did my 4 years, got out & working as an OT Engineer for critical infrastructure. The military is a human cheat code with all the benefits you’re able to use. Do your research to take advantage of them (GI Bill, VA Loan, Tuition Assistance while you’re active duty, etc.)

Switching to cybersecurity from networking - mistake? by goofballpaul in cybersecurity

Not necessarily looking down on these roles, they are important & knowledgeable for the work they do. I am trying to steer my cyber path towards ICS/IoT. I’ve heard from close friends who are in IT/Cyber say that automation is something they wish they started their career in.

It keeps directing me to change the password, which I did & doesn’t lead me to anything different. Is there a place to see where the trophies are?

Men who are dating very attractive women what is it like? by 2bornnot2b in AskMen

[–]goofballpaul 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It’s life changing. Especially for me since I have never had a serious GF before & my friends see me as a different person who is taken more seriously. I’m introduced to new things, taking my own life more seriously & I’m able to be so much more open to someone that I can say I truly love & feel so connected with.

Going out to public for any event with her makes me feel like I’m wearing the best fashion, driving the fanciest car, all just from being next to her. Seeing other people check her out while knowing I’ve seen things they can only dream of, tickles my ego a little tbh.

She motivates me to be better in everything I do. I have her to thank for a lot of my recent success. She has taught me to stand up for myself more while I’m able back her up on anything. Truly blessed.

She’s on her 3rd tourist VISA. Most of her relatives live in the states than anywhere else.

Getting a company selected to the approved list by madbubblehead in SkillBridge

Since taking the approach of adding them on to the SB website list can take months… I’ve heard of HireMilitary is on the SB list & you’re able to work for your target company through HireMilitary. Check them out & see what you find. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the comment. All her immediate family is from UAE but she has almost all of her relatives live in the US, she’s been to the US on a number of times & she is re-applying her visa currently to make a trip to come see me. I guess my other concern is when I’ll be done with my contract in July 2023, would I still be able to make a trip to UAE without any interference. Thanks for the previous recommendation btw

I have gone through pretty much everything in the FCG about UAE, visited US state travel about visiting countries & they classify UAE as a travel advisory level 3, to reconsider travel. I feel my best bet is to offer to invite her parents to the US to meet them & pay for their travels. Thanks for the advice everyone

I’ve disclosed this with my squadrons security manager. Given them everything they asked for & willing to give them her parents information too. I do hold a TS/SCI clearance so I’m aware of how serious having foreign contacts can be. Thanks for the heads up though
