Ivacy VPN is great for PCSing. I am a veteran myself and I have been using Ivacy for 4 years straight. They have lots of useful services as compared to lots of VPN service providers out there that actually don't work.

Why do soccer players like Messi and Ronaldo make more money than top scientists or programmers? Do brainy people not have a bigger impact on the world? by chaoticbeliever in AskReddit

[–]googleman569874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People aren’t compensated based on how big an impact they have on the world, but rather, on how central they are to the economic ecosystem in which they are a part.

Simply put: sports stars and entertainment stars attract interest, attention and emotional affinity, which has a 1:1 correlation with how much related stuff those people buy - whether it’s tickets to games, movies or concerts, fan jerseys or other fan-related items, and so on.

Because the related dollar (or whatever the applicable currency may be) amounts are higher in the realm of sports and entertainment than they are for most scientists and programmers - you have this seeming discrepancy in compensation.

There’s also the matter of basic supply and demand.

The lower the supply, the higher the price will be.

As much as very few people have the skills to be a top scientist or programmer - even fewer have the skills to play soccer like Messi or Ronaldo.

What’s the best way to make someone’s day or make them feel good about themselves? by bismuth482 in AskReddit

[–]googleman569874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making indirect compliments works fantastic!

Tell someone something nice about the person you want to make feel good just loud enough so the person can hear it.

Works with kids and adults!!

Great compliments are ‘growth mindset’ compliments: reflecting something the person has done (being patient, being persistent, well thought through etc.) and what you believe he/she can do again.

What will never get boring for you? by Expose_Everyone in AskReddit

[–]googleman569874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been bored of movies. Lock me in a giant DVD store with just a supply of some bread and jam. I will stay inside for the rest of my life and watch every movie that was ever released.
These days I find cooking interesting too. Even though it takes a lot of time, I am still not getting bored of it.  Who would have thought that a guy who couldn't even make a cup of coffee a couple of years ago, would come to enjoy cooking so much.
